Food very good. You get plenty so won't go hungry. Clean and tidy restaurant. Just felt rushed when finished eating. Would of liked a few minutes between dishes. What an experience! 😍 We visited La Anchor for dinner and were completely blown away by the portion sizes and the quality of the food. 🍽️ The starter (meatballs baked with cheese in marinara sauce) and pasta could easily pass as a main – absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. 😋🧀🍅 Then came the steak… and wow! 🥩 It was huge, tender, and perfectly cooked. Definitely more of a food challenge than a regular portion – but in the best possible way! 💪😄 We also had steamed veggies 🥦🥬 and chips on the side – all fresh and well-prepared. The red wine sauce 🍷 was rich and full of depth, the perfect match for the steak. And just when we thought we couldn’t eat any more… we said yes to tiramisu! 🍰 Light, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending to an epic meal. ✨ Great atmosphere, friendly service 😊, and food that will leave you full and impressed. It was an amazing time to be there. Hmmm visited last night for a birthday meal and unfortunately it appears will be the last time. I had the Calamari followed by the Pork Loin which was delicious with a couple of glasses of house Rose. My had the Focaccia with meatballs and goats cheese also delicious followed by the slow cooked Beef which if I'm honest was very salty but melted in the mouth. Portion sizes are huge so well worth the price. Now as I dont eat desert I always opt for a Liqueur Coffee, on this occasion I asked for a Jamaican, the server was unsure so I followed this up by explaining Dark Rum at the same time as my ordered the Lemon Cheesecake. What I received was a very nice hot coffee after my had finished his desert. His Cheesecake had pips left in, possibly to show diners that there was actually real lemons used. My coffee had zero taste of Rum. I asked the server very politely if the rum had been missed out. I was assured that the Rum was added. That was it. It was my birthday meal and I did not want to make a song and dance. So imagine my surprise when another server approached our table with the opening of, ' so I hear you have a problem with your coffee' Nope, not going there. I still wanted an enjoyable evening with my partner. She gave me what I can only describe as a superior smile. I put myself through College and beyond working Bars, Clubs and Nightclubs and created hundreds of Specialty coffees ending up as Supervisor, so when I say I know my coffee believe me I know my Specialty coffee' s. There was little to zero DARK RUM. It has a distinct flavour. She did offer to exchange the coffee but truthfully it left a bad taste because I did not want a good evening turn bad. I wanted out of there. But here's the rub, normally we are extremely good tippers, my whilst paying the bill had asked if there was not a facility of adding the tip onto the bill, another server explained sometimes it happens when the Gratuity selection is not offered on the bill. So instead my gave her a twenty but asked for ten back. When she came back with the ten she just handed it to him, no smile, no thank you. Now when you dis me I have broad shoulders but when you dis my partner, then I am extremely unhappy. Restaurants are vying for business, we noted your venue was no where near full for a Friday night, will we return absolutely not Absolutely the best food ever ! The portion sizes are huge - the steaks are even bigger (T-Bone steak weighing 1.75kg ) ! The chips are the best chips in the world -and the desserts are to die for - the service is impeccable and Nick (owner ) and his incredible chef are so so welcoming - honestly must try this restaurant if you are wanting good quality and ridiculously tasty food - after visiting a number of times with the family we will be back for more for sure - 10/10 xxx Always beautiful food and great size portions.
