Winter time is great to go to avoid large crowds, summer the is packed, you can best most of the crowd in the spring/summer months by going very early but shops will not be open. Our trip was in winter so we didn’t get to see the lake, however the view was breathtaking and we had the chance to walk on the an go all around it to see the different views and take some really nice photos.
