First off when we arrived there was a falcon show in progress and the falconer was very rude when greeting us, he made us feel very unwelcome and I personally felt uncomfortable while viewing the show, he never attempted once to explain anything he was explaining to the audience in English (seeing as how we clearly didn’t speak German) also he indicated at the start we needed to pay but never attempted to collect payment from us until the end of the show, which was fine but when he asked for payment he never once indicated he didn’t accept a credit or debit card. When we explained that we only had a credit card he became very indignant and demanded we pay in euros, we again explained we didn’t realize that the establishment didn’t take cards and we only had a card and U.S. dollars for payment. After going back and forth with the falconer he finally asked did we have PayPal (we did) but we had no data connection. Thankfully one of the other patrons attending the show (who was an English and German speaker) was kind enough to pay for us and allow us to pay her back. All in all the experience was ruined by the falconer’s rude behavior and inability to be considerate of our misunderstanding of the process due to it being our first time in Germany. If any of you are American tourists unfamiliar with the language or don’t have euros, be prepared for an ordeal and hope you’ve a kind person around who understands your situation that will be willing to help. This is a once in a lifetime experience. If you want to see all sorts of falcons up close (and personal) this is the place to go. If you’re in the area give yourself and your family one hour to learn more about these magnificent birds and if you’re lucky even get a chance to have one sitting on your hat :) Me and my family loved the experience! Wir waren heute mit unserem kleinen Sohn (2,5 Jahre) in der Falknerei Hohenaschau. Er ist ein großer Fan von Greifvögeln und wir wollten ihm damit eine große Freude machen. Wir wurden definitiv nicht enttäuscht. In kleiner Runde bekommt man eine so schöne, hautnahe und in atemberaubender Kulisse Flugschau geboten. Der Falkner ist ein wahnsinnig lieber Mensch, dem man seine Leidenschaft einfach anmerkt. Das Wohl der Tiere steht absolut im Vordergrund. Danke für diese tolle Erfahrung! Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder ☺️ Greifvögel hautnah!!! Wir waren schon bei einigen Flugshows, aber eine Vorführung in die der Zuschauer derart intensiv miteinbezogen wird, hatten wir bisher nicht erleben dürfen. Alles rund um die Tiere mit Witz erklärt, Fragen kompetent beantwortet, die Vögel konnte man förmlich spüren. Dafür kann es nur eine Bewegung geben: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ PS: Auf dem Gelände selbst gibt es keine Toiletten, dies sollte vor dem steilen Aufgang Beachtung finden 😉 Einfach eine spektakuläre, geniale Vorführung von den Greifvögeln. Super, werde wieder die Falknerei besuchen. Die Falknerei unterhalb der Burg Hohenaschau ist ein echtes Highlight im Chiemgau. Die Flugvorführung war spektakulär – majestätische Adler, flinke Falken und elegante Milane zeigten ihr Können direkt über unseren Köpfen. Die Falkner haben mit viel Humor und Fachwissen spannende Einblicke in die Welt der Greifvögel gegeben. Besonders beeindruckend war der Steilstoß des Falken und das ruhige Kreisen des Seeadlers. Die Kulisse der Burg macht das Ganze noch magischer. Absolut empfehlenswert Flyer said it would be open on Tuesday, but upon arrival, they were closed.
