The Schönramer beer is in my opinion one of the very best in the whole of Germany. So, no surprise that the attached restaurant can already score in that regard. The food is good and the ambiance very authentic. In the summer, they have a small beer garden outside. Staff is friendly and attentive. Typical Bavarian restaurant but with it's own beer brewery, so the beer is excellent. Good is very good. Enormous, massive portions for for Gargantuan customers. Our hound was very very happy to help out with the fried chicken. We visited here Saturday 2nd July 2022, this was the first stop off on a 52km Waging am See Traunstein 5 brewery tour loop. Bräustüberl Schönram is located about 6km south of Waging am See in Schonram which is just a few km's south of Petting. It is located adjacent to the brewery and is very typical in style and appearance, it is very much Bavarian. The small Biergarten patio area is to the left-hand side as you look with a small bar out here, it is partly covered but the remaining tables also had parasols. There were also plenty of places to park your bike, as this seems a popular cycling stop. We sat outside and had the Zwickl and Hefe-Weisse both and probably the best beers of the day. The serving staff were dressed in traditional Bavarian clothing and served us very quickly, the food looked good but we'd already decided to have something at the next stop. I popped inside only very briefly to use the toilet, but the interior of the restaurant was again very traditional, lots of wood, good sized place, the menu looked very authentic and would also be a place to visit in the colder months. We really liked this place! *Visited again Saturday 23rd July 2022 after a panoramic 45km loop cycle ride around the east side of Waging am See. Had the Grünhopfen Pils and Summa Weisse both were excellent. This is a place. Beautiful place and excellent service. Lots of different beers and love the pairing recommendation for each dish. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Food was great, service was friendly and fast, and in general place to visit would recommend for sure Beautiful brewery and the folks running the tour and serving in the tasting room were very nice. Love those place! I had dinner here four days in a row as part of a beer-themed vacation. The food is great, the beer phenomenal, and the service and atmosphere are excellent. Came for lunch and a few beers today. Food and drinks were excellent. However, upon paying our bill I asked the waitress if I could purchase a glass, she brought one wrapped up for me and charged me €5. When I opened the bag a few hours later I discovered she’d given me an old one covered in scratches with a big chip in it. It wasn’t listed on our bill either so I assume she’s just pocketed the money. Very disappointing as I’d traveled from the UK specifically to visit.
