One of the best hikes I’ve done in the UK, the were unmatched. It took us approximately eight hours to climb and descend Snowdon. The weather was also glorious so that definitely helped. It's an amazing place surrounded with heels and mountains whith a lot of springs and lakes Whits lovely little villages .The are astonishing and you need weeks or months to cover all locations and places. Honestly it's one of the most amazing places I ever been. Very difficult and long hike. You’ll spend atleast 3-4 hours for uphill and 3 hours downhill. No water and toilets throughout the way, except starting point at pen-y-pass and at the summit, quite shocking and disappointing but the are very and picturesque! Spent a day driving through the national during our trip to north Wales. Very pictures and not too commercialised. Highly recommend especially if you enjoy natural beauty, mountains, lakes and greenery! Snowdonia is a national in North Wales. 🫶 It is home to the highest mountain in Wales and the second highest in the UK - Snowdon. ⛰️ It is the only place on the British Isles where the arctic-alpine plant called the "Snowdon lily" grows. 😉 I spent a lot of time at the summit itself, just wanting to enjoy the view. 🫶 Took around 6 hours 20 mins up and down. Up Pyg track Down Miners track We had very good weather luckily so the were absolutely spectacular. We arrived at the Pen Y Pass car at 8am on a Saturday and it was already full so bear that in mind. We parked on the side of the road and walked to the start of the track at the car park. Toilets and water fountain can be found in the car too. What an amazing experience, we visited Snowdon and experienced the Watkins Path. Challenging at points but well worth the visit, a truly epic day! This is the most country side and to drive through it it's breath taking its a must now and again to stop the car and just take it all in . September/October is a great time to as the weather is still good but much more quiet just how we like it... Driving through Snowdonia feels like you’ve left the world behind. One moment you're in a quiet Welsh village, and the next you're surrounded by wild, open land — mountains rising on both sides, clouds brushing the peaks, streams cutting through the valleys. The road curves and climbs, never quite letting you relax, but not in a stressful way — more like it’s keeping you present. There’s a deep stillness here. Even with the car engine humming, it feels sacred. Every bend brings a new view: moss-covered rocks, lonely trees, sheep wandering freely, and those slate-grey lakes reflecting the sky. I didn’t even need to — just being on that road was enough to stir something in me. It’s humbling, beautiful, and raw. Get the right weather forecast and these are the you get rewarded with. Weekend of walking this was the valleys around Snowdon, a lot prettier than Snowdon, but still about as hilly! Really worth the effort! I had a very pleasant experience hiking up to the top of snowdonia. It was a very physically challenging and mentally demanding as you keep moving further the view takes your breath away. I promised mother I would return her to her homeland if she passed away and I did just that After arriving there I knew why she would want to spend eternity there breath taking beautifully like I have never seen anywhere but in North Wales wear my mother was born What an amazing experience, proud of myself, very hard to scramble up and for first time on my life, went through the pyg and come down miners stunning Absolutely awesome! Slept in watkin car (in a car) the night prior to the adventure lol! Traversed the watkin route up and it was very pleasant... Very relaxing and what felt like a steady/gradual hike, with a final 100m scramble - if that! If you don't like heights or steep climbs then take the Pyg or Miners Track. We pretty much looped watkin path which was nice but if you want to catch the shuttle then head back on the Pyg track for sure. The said it all from up top bit was already commited. Beautiful streams of water coming down into Cristal clear pools! Unreal on a clear day! Breathtaking in fact, not a million miles away from Glencoe IMO. Well worth appreciating this mountain in clear dry weather, with good levels of visibility! Prepare for it to be windy on top so wear secure clothing! Stunning drive from Snowdon to Cader Idris the following day for a there. Again another view, took the direct pony path due to fatigue but would recommend the longer lakeside climb as super picturesque. What an experience it is a must for beginner or experienced hikers. If you manage to get on top, the view is absolute breathtaking. Lot of scenery, we parked at a lane for £8 I recommend not parking at the visitor car parks or they charge you 40 pound only for couple hours of parking, and I recommend doing it not in summer do it in spring, or else it's just a big crowd on the paths. Personally for best experience I would recommend going in summer. If you want to visit the place alone or with limited tourists, winter would be alright.
