A short distance from the busy city centre. As if you are in France. The food is simple and good. The waitresses and owner are friendly and patient with difficult guests. I had a tartare which was beautifully prepared as it should. We sat outside, it's a location - lively but not too busy. Just a nice, cosey with swift and friendly people, decent (I had the escargots and couscous) and a "jazzy mood". French inspired at the amazing Doelenplein, that really makes you feel you're having on a small square in southern France. Love the Picon bière! place to eat, friendly staff, food and terrace. Being one of the oldest restaurants in Delft, LEF has become my go to place for quality French food for price! The classics, tartare, duck confit and frites are possibly one of the best in Delft. Their appetizers and starters are also top notch, made from high quality ingredients. The wine and drinks is also ok with plenty of options. The is super and always smiling. Make sure you check out the daily before ordering though. And always leave some room for dessert. In wintertime do try their housemade gluhwein, it's very balanced: not too sweet, not too spicy nor too heavy on the alcohol. Perfect for a Sunday evening when you have to work early the next day. Overall, the place has a charming and cozy interior, it's perfect for a date night or a chill with friends. The is also very helpful, our waitress was quite cheerful and the was fast. I'd definitely come again to check out what they have as the daily dish, there's a reason why this place has stood the test of time. This is a hidden pearl outside Delft centre. Lovely relaxed restaurant, got a pretty square outside with lots of seating or you can sit inside. We were a family of four from the UK needing before we drove to rotterdam for our evening ferry home. This place was perfect, as they had an excellent kids and we adults shared the fish platter which was delicious. Very friendly staff, relaxed vibe though also for a romantic meal out. Other than that, it’s a place I visit often, though usually just for drinks. If the food were a bit more flavorful and the a bit more varied, it would be much better. I’m saying this because I enjoy going there and would love to go for as well. This was truly a bad experience. We came with our family for dinner, and the wasn’t busy, yet we had to wait far too long for our food, despite the fact that all of our dishes should have been quick to prepare (3 medium steaks, 1 well-done steak, 1 salmon steak, and snails as a starter). The snails were served quickly, but we waited about an hour for the main courses. When we asked the waitress about our food, she told us it was our fault for ordering the snails first. When the food finally arrived, 3 out of 4 steaks were cooked incorrectly: all three were undercooked, even though one of them was supposed to be well-done. In the end, we had to ask the waitress to cook one again and wait for it while being incredibly hungry. The photo shows a well-done steak.
