The owners are very dog friendly and made a fuss of our dog. We had a table with a bowl of water for her and biscuits. The food was fabulous, hot, tasty and lots of it. I recommend the Sunday lunch. Typical local. Great crowd. Staff were all so friendly. Food wasn’t bad at all. Just pub grub but 2 empty plates!! From the initial phone call tonight we knew this was going to be great. Very welcoming and friendly owners, superb polite staff and excellent quality food a good prices. And adding to it excellent real ale. Completely recommend this pub. Brilliant. We had an amazing meal at The Carpenters and the atmosphere was brilliant and so good to see a village pub thriving. The food portions were very generous and the steak and Bateman's ale pie was full of flavour and the meat perfectly tender. Everybody in the party said how great the food was and none of us had room for pudding! Will definitely be making plenty of repeat visits. Great service and a great choice of meals. A break from the normal chain run pubs. All meals we had were excellent and fresh. It was nice not to feel rushed between courses. We will definitely go again. Visited on Friday evening , as we were staying nearby , the service was great. huge portions of food , good quality and tasty! Must also mention that the chef was so lovely! He Came out afterwards and was smiley friendly! Would recommend :) We went, with another couple, for Sunday lunch yesterday. Very nice pub and atmosphere. The food was excellent. The roast meats were lovely and tender. Loads of veg, yorkshires and plenty of it. We had one person who could not eat such a large meal so perhaps they could have smaller portions on the menu as an option.. The young lady who served us was very nice. We would definitely recommend this village pub.
