Many bottles of medicaments, herbs, etc from the 16th, 17th and later centuries. It's an unusual type of monument that really deserves a visit. Little or no concession to non-French speakers so much use made of Google Translate to get the gist of the various exhibits, however, the place itself is magnificent, lots of dark wood panelling interspersed with beautifully coloured and shaped glassware and medicine jars (some dubious ingredients used back in the old days such as crayfish eyes and woodlouse powder - can't imagine what they were used for!), The old treatment areas, patient wards, the apothecarists ingredients room and places for worship were really very interesting. Small site worth a visit if going to the nearby Chateau (30 mins) Well worth visiting. When buying tickets, the staff switched to English after realising we weren’t French speakers and assured us we could still join since the tour had just begun. We paid €20 and rushed in—only to discover the entire tour was conducted only in French. We spent 30 minutes standing in a single room, understanding nothing, and then it was over. There is no excuse for not warning us beforehand. Only after the tour ended did the guide hand us an English pamphlet about the exhibit — a nice gesture perhaps, but far too little and far too late. To make matters worse, at the start the guide suggested scanning a QR code for English information. DON'T DO IT!
