We visited the gardens and exterior of this Château. It is very pretty and interesting. The rose garden and lower (river) gardens are beautiful. It is very peaceful. This was an accidental find that was wonderful. The family still lives in the chateau. building. Each of the 4 sides is done in a different style. Large park with stables and an orangey. The family dog was wandering around the park. We went there waiting for a couple hours for ticket booth to be open then find out they not open the castle only can go in to garden for 8 euros. Disappointed Well worth a visit. What a stunning place A charming little shop tucked just outside the Château Le Lude. From the outside, it looks small and unassuming, but inside you’ll find pretty china mugs, charming souvenirs aimed at children, and a few lovely local products. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making it a delightful end to a château visit. A great to visit with alot of period features and with plenty to see and gardens. So many details to see. We'll worth the entrance fee ,don't get caught taking pictures with your phone we got told off in the main hall... Fantastic day out. The grounds are wonderful but the is something else. It is welcoming and authentic. Not random bites of furniture placed in rooms, you really do see the exactly as it was. Don’t miss the kitchen, which is used several times a year, check their Facebook page for dates. Amazing family history. Lovely and gardens. You are allowed to see one wing of the by self guided tour. Well worth a detour. Still privately owned picture book on the banks of the Loire. Limited but interesting number of rooms to look at, but the outside on a sunny day is magnificent. Nice tea room outside almost opposite the main entrance. Good for stop if you have to wait for the to open. Closed 12:30 - 14:00! Charming set in grounds. The stonework is stunning and the grounds are perfectly manicured…. It’s definitely worth visiting the kitchens, the ingenuity of how ovens, heating and cold cabinets were installed is amazing! A really nice, gentle day out in Le Lude - certainly worth a stroll around the town too… According to me a lovely castle! I always preferred to visit castles in which the owners have been living for generations and still are. It gives an extra dimension; You can feel the attachment of the owners to their property! Here you will find the servants quarters as if they just left full of furniture and household tools they used. The owner’s rooms you can visit have a few very nice pieces of furniture! A must visite “Château de la Loir”. Do not forget the garden.
