What a great hidden swimming spot! Tucked away between North Irish country farms this swimming hole is crystal clear and so clean. Plenty of amenities with a cafe, changerooms, things for hire and I think I even saw a rock climbing wall but not sure what it's for. Staff were super friendly and helpful. £5 to swim and £5 for a floaty thing that you apparently need to go in. They also have groups that come down for paddle boarding. When we went it was nice and busy but there's so much room to sit or stand on the grass with a few seats. Great place to go for a few laps or a quick dip in some nice cool (but not freezing) water. Open Water Swimming Session Booked. Had a fantastic alternative Friday night out with the girls! The mood was definitely lifted by the time we headed home. From start to finish, the experience was seamless—check-in was quick and simple. The location was easy to find, just a short distance from Moira. There were plenty of seating areas, spacious changing facilities, and even warm showers available afterward. The lake itself was clean, refreshing, and surprisingly pleasant to swim in—it actually felt good for you! We were all impressed by how warm(-ish) the water was, especially since most of us are used to sea swimming. The lake isn’t too deep, so it was ideal for anyone who prefers having their feet on the ground in most areas. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the free tea and coffee afterward was a lovely touch. We’ll definitely be back! Throughly enjoyed the sit on top kayaking. Went at a nice leisurely pace around the lake. Instructor's were very good. It's a lovely spot especially on a beautiful day. I've only been twice, but it's already my favourite spot ever! Everyone is so unbelievably kind and it has such a wonderful community feel, and the lake is gorgeous. Such a gem, I've only been for the swimming so far but I can't wait to give paddle boarding a go. Just absolutely perfect. Great day out with family. Lots to do. Kayaking with the grandchildren, changing rooms, wetsuits and lifesavers all provided. Quadbike train rides for all ages, axe throwing (must have shoes/trainers that cover your toes, no open toe sandals allowed), archery all enjoyed by me 66 years old. Í missed out doing the wall climbing.... However I will do it next time so much to do and enjoy the outdoors. Weather was excellent. Couldn’t recommend Moira Lakes more. I signed myself up on a trip around the coast of Turkey on a kayak, without knowing really anything about kayaking. I went to Moira Lakes for two lessons and they were professional, friendly and so knowledgeable. They gave me the confidence to go and have a fantastic trip! Only downside is the lane is very bumpy, one of my friends was talking to them and they are trying to sort it! Just back from our second visit to Moira Lakes with our Cub Scouts. An incredible spot with so much to offer! Staff are so friendly and helpful - our Cub Scouts loved every minute! Paddle boarding, gaining their paddle safer award, climbing wall and archery! Great to have instructors who can work on Adventure Skills badges also. We can’t wait to come back!
