Limited lunch menu. Clean place, service. staff. 4 stars as limited menu not reflected the gluten free options. wee place, were very & helpful, no reservations but accepted us with a smile, food was delicious, also gluten free options for my son, which was a bonus. Very reasonably priced. Definitely go again. Sorry about pics, was starving so started to eat first then took pics. 🤣 Had a family get together ,for a birthday the food was lovely and the young servers were very attentive and pleasant, would definitely be back . Real low key local. bar tenders. locals. food. Fresh drink. Music was loud enough to be sung along to. Not so loud that you couldn't enjoy your out though. Had a SUPER last night at The Poet. 👏👏 Reminded me off the meals we used to get at the Park Avenue Hotel, sadly no longer a hotel. lovely and friendly. Atmosphere also great. All my family had a SUPER meal. Well done everyone at The Poet. 👏👏 This is place to have a romantic dinner for 2 or a family dinner. It is a bar to catch up with friends and have a night out. When you walk into The Poet you don't feel out of place or people are looking at you the way you feel sometimes in other bars. are really friendly. Absolutely loved The Poet Bar and Grill! This place is a hidden gem. The prices are incredibly reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food—everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The was top-notch too—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend and definitely coming back soon. Keep up the work guys We have now officially adopted The Poet as our wee “local”. We’ve called in a few times over this past year for a quick pint after a long day out with the kids and ordered a few starters & kids meals. Our most recent visits we’ve sat for longer and ordered 3 courses. Each we’ve visited we haven’t had a reservation but the couldn’t have been more or welcoming especially catering for three kids. It honestly has a wee cozy vibe, it’s just to sit with a pint at the window and watch the world go by. The food is always incredible especially their wings, prawns pil pil and prawn cocktail (Sunday only for PC) we’ve had a variety from the menu and it has always been outstanding quality and generous portions. We’ve enjoyed their Roasts, fish and chips, pork belly and their chicken stack etc. Also, a variety of kids meals which went down a treat especially the kids pasta dish with garlic bread. Oh and that sticky toffee pudding is to die for, it’s amazing! Such an underrated wee place. atmosphere, prices and superb food. Thoroughly enjoyed our random wee visits. Some of the nicest and friendliest staff. I cannot recommend The Poet enough. The food was really and the are very friendly. The is quick and the food came out within 20 minutes. The atmosphere is really and it is well worth a visit after a long day of walking! The guiness is spot on as well! Leigh was very accommodating in taking my 8pm booking for 24 people for a Saturday evening on short notice. A few dropped out prior to the meal, but we were told this wasn't an issue when we got there. With 8 adults and 7 teenage boys, there wasn't a crumb left on the tables after our meal, everyone thoroughly enjoyed theirs. was wondering, food was piping hot and with generous portions. Cant recommend enough. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Belfast. Reserved a table for 8people for my son's 18th. When we arrived the chairs had been taken from our table. Only two remained and we had to go looking for chairs. No one came to take our food order and ended up leaving with no food. Very, very disappointed especially considering the table was booked for an 18th birthday. The girl behind the bar was very thou. Paid £10 deposit to secure a table for the 12th. When we arrived the place was empty but the was absolutely abysmal. Our starter came without the side. The server seemed like he was running away every he left our table as if he was rushed of his feet. The portion sizes where like childrens sizes ,two goujons cut up on a handful of chips for £14 and four goujons with a handful of chips for £16 we were actually overcharged £17 for this. No servers came near us for the remainder of the meal. We then realised after paying the bill, that the £10 deposit wasn't taken off the bill. We returned to query this and the were less than kind and in fact quite rude with not even an apology. Unfortunately we won't be returning customers. When you make a mistake at least own up to it and apologise instead of treating paying customers like the ones who are in the wrong. Extremely disappointed as this was for my birthday and have left feeling quite upset and deflated. We had an excellent mid-week dinner in the Poet. The steak sandwich with tobacco onions and peppercorn sauce, and the chicken stack with creamy mashed potatoes, tobacco onions and peppercorn sauce. Both meals were and the large glass of Shiraz was also very nice. The was efficient and friendly. This is our local and has been consistently for some time. The chefs and bar are and helpful. Went for a birthday dinner with family. It took nearly 15 mins for a drink and I had to ask the server could he get us drinks. I then had to ask him again could we order our food. We then had to go to the bar and ask for the bill as he just kept disappearing. He seemed like he had very little interest in being there. Unfortunately we won’t be back, not the you expect for a sit down meal. Excellent turkey dinner, belly pork and crispy chilli beef Best food in Ireland. The sauces were top notch. servers and chefs. Highlight of our trip! atmosphere, the food was delicious, my son wanted to the steak sandwich and ordered medium cooked beef, he eat everything in the plate but the meat, he wasn’t sure about it and we asked the chef to cook it a bit more, they brought another full plate!!! We definitely weren’t expecting it!! My son had two dinners ! I ordered the roast of the day, honey roast ham, delicious! My partner had Pan fry chicken, very tasty, very very good!! We had desserts, waffle with raspberries and ice cream, very as the waffle was warm. Sundae fudge, ready too! First and last we shall be here. On paper it sounds 2 courses for £20 but when you experience it , it isnt worth it. was shocking some guy running about in Gym gear more interested in serving what seemed his friends or off duty. One other guy had no clue of the menu and needed to double check what was available. Had to chase 3 times our drinks order which took 15 minutes for someone to even come to us. Then the drinks were slammed down spilling some of them, food arrived and was grand , we then had to go to the bar to request more drinks as both servers were more keen on talking to kitchen or just not around to be serving people. Our party was not the only ones complaining last night. Maybe a one off but certainly wont be risking it again. Shame to be far as the bar is nice.
