The Patron and his wife are always very welcoming and serve their coffee really hot - just as it should be! Fast wifi great for catching up with all the emails from home and local newspapers put out daily. Our favourite café in this town. Recommended! Basic. No bread at breakfast time. Coffee mediocre. Pastries ditto. But can sit out in sun in morning in cathedral square. V interesting cathedral! Favourite bar in St Pol for watching the world go by. Friendly staff. Even though I was speaking French, albeit limited, I waited for over 10 minutes to be served, being ignored repeatedly. I thought it might be a French-English thing, but she was then rude/abrupt with everyone, just ringing the bell and telling everyone to leave in a most abrupt manner, so I didn't feel so bad! We stayed in town for another couple of days, but didn't go back. Everywhere else in town, the people were charming Le meilleur café crème breton: beau, généreux, mousseux à souhait!😋 Merci pour l’accueil chaleureux et souriant 😊 Been visiting for over 20 years and we just love it. The owner and the locals made us feel so welcome, to such an extent that on our last night the proprietor bought us a drink.
