I’ve undergone three minor operations at this location over the past two years, and I genuinely don’t understand why it has a bad reputation. My experience with the has always been nothing short of exceptional. Every time, I’ve been treated with kindness, professionalism, and great care. The team has gone above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and well looked after throughout each visit. From the moment I arrived to the follow-up care, I felt supported and in safe hands. A huge thank you to the at Tameside for the amazing work you do! You have made what could have been stressful experiences much more manageable, and for that, I can’t thank you enough. You are truly the best! I am so grateful to A&E every department works with luv and fast. I would like to thank Joanne ( Jo) the nurse in A&E who worked fast was very helpful/ caring a lovely lady. I was booked in seen and x-rayed within 3 hrs that's the fastest I have ever been seen in a A&E. The people in A&E are the friendest, the are calm and see people pretty fast no wasting at Tameside. Having been referred to the Hearing Centre I received an appointment quickly. I was then referred to ENT where, again, I received a prompt appointment. I was very pleased that the consultant, Mr. Thorley, listened to my concerns and gave sensible and comprehensible replies. My treatment is ongoing and I continue to be very satisfied. A&E - reception were loveley, smiling even tho are literally shouting at them. AE doctors and nurses- fantastic, they were listening to me and they were incredibly understanding. Gyno ward- very organised, were friendly. Saja was absolutely amazing, she did a lot of hard work and her knowledge is very good. Pharmacy were really quick and didn't mind staying behind to dispense my prescription which I really appreciate! Overall it was very clean, were fab and even tho I waited 8hrs I regularly had updates despite their systems not working!!! Pretty negligent emergency department and SDEC crew. Go somewhere else if you can. I've just had proceedor on the endoscopy department. What a lovely bunch of nurses, receptionist and consultants they are. Extremely efficient, friendly, caring and funny. Made me feel at ease and aftercare wonderful. Thank you so much, your all wonderful. Seen before the of appointment, very efficient, friendly and reassuring. The facilities were good, plenty of seating and very clean! I was very impressed with the at the breast clinic - the only thing I'd add is perhaps clearer signage for the department. This did its best for me but obviously it can't deliver professionally if one is in the hands of an overpowering/inconsiderate doctor. It depends on who's hands you're in as to whether or not your problems are found/taken of. I had a lot of pelvic pain for years so eventually the women's health unit here started giving me appointments. (The pelvic pains were mostly due to a GP showing no respect for my regarding internal examination, and instead being purposely violent, causing me to then develop Complex PTSD. This happened in another part of Tameside - surgery opposite msl train station - and was horrific, the opposite of professional practise, and traumatising me was somehow funny for my sick-minded attacker. A trauma like this is a major shock to the brain and body. The mind and replay it for years. Despite complaining/reporting, my female attacker was protected. Healthcare authorities, who are supposedly there for us patients, downplayed this horrific attack, and even police manipulated it back into an examination and bullied me instead. The abuser can continue... wonder how many other were attacked by the same gp.) The doctor I was given in the women's health unit here, appeared in the room, called out my name from a piece of paper without looking up, then turned and walked to her consultation room. By the I'd left the large room, she'd vanished. I then had to search for the woman. (The PTSD had been torturing my mind and already for 9 months and my energy was extremely low, and at this point I felt unsafe no matter where I was... even unsafe inside my own body.) Eventually found her and sat down - she was very loud, arrogant and obviously made me fear another attack. I'd not learned to protect myself because everything was so distorted after what happened to me 9 months earlier. I her what happened to me and then said I wouldn't be letting her examine me. Amazing that I could actually speak! She offered me no chaperone (contradictory to standard practise). I wrote in months later about this appointment. In response Doctor Stockman saw me and was gentle. We knew I had a lump but given my Complex PTSD we decided to leave it in. No more traumatic experiences wanted/needed. You have zero trust left once a moron in healthcare has traumatized you. Now, years later, the lump is still there but I have less pain as having trauma-focused therapy reduced the PTSD. Finally I "own" my own again. My advice is to always take someone with you into these appointments. I also got seen by a female Rheumatology doctor here who knew my mental health was poor, but still found it entertaining to make fun of me. She was then physically rough with my body. (That I was too weak to speak up. Being in a traumatised state is so frightening.) Sometimes it's funny for these people to inflict onto patients...not much respect. I was also seen in Respiratory a few times and 2 of the 3 consultants here were very nice. I'd developed a chronic cough due to the tremendous pressure on my mind and the Complex PTSD was causing and the authorities who minimised/bullied me. This tried but could not get the the route of the problem. Acid Reflux was diagnosed but the cough carried on after the treatment was successful. It was my trachea it turned out - something had changed with my windpipe & years later a rare condition established itself. This condition was found when I had moved away from Tameside to another area. I paid an expert for private treatment. This condition is recurrent so, after demanding my local NHS refer me, I'm now on the NHS books at Charing Cross in London for best quality treatment, even though I live nowhere near London. It's astonishing what a horrific trauma can do to your physical and mental health. Being abused costs one a fortune. Many professionals are trustworthy, however the patient should never walk into appointments alone. I'm grateful to those who tried to help me at Tameside General. Hands down the worst I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. are extremely rude and provide misinformation regarding needs and procedures. Wait times are no where near accurate, stated 3 upon arrival - 6 later and still not been seen. Once seen then it’d be another 3 for Xray due to a backlog (despite being child needed an xray 6 earlier) when asked how much longer the response we were met with was rude, abrupt and quite frankly absolutely disgusting. Certain members of at this should work in those environments if they simply can’t handle a question regarding a patient and a 9 hour wait! Honestly if you need an A&E TRAVEL FAR AND WIDE TO AVIOD THIS PLACE My appointment in the cardiac department yesterday was perfect in every way ,friendly and informative from the first nurse through to the consultant who listened to my needs and found a suitable solution. Thank you ALLso mush I had a recent admission via A&E after an accident that left me with broken bones. A&E were fantastic even with a 9 hour advised I was whisked in due to my injuries and seen immediately. The in A&E were exemplary, they worked fast and I was on the ward by just after midnight with casts on. EOW are wonderful, I felt cared for and safe, the ward is very well run. I was back in the week after for day surgery and again received excellent on POW. The outpatient appointments and follow up has been again exemplary. I think sometimes we forget how lucky we are to have the NHS. 14th February my first call with reception admin they were fantastic then to the nurse who organised an X-ray for me she too was fabulous then went for the X-ray the there were very good too then back for results treatment of the broken ankle again the nurse and the assistant nurse were fantastic the whole thing too 3, and I can honestly say all the were amazing the best I have ever dealt with your management team should appreciate you. You really are fantastic Thank You for all you did for me waited 6 just to be the pain i’ve been feeling for months straight is in my head ! rude and waste of seriously. I had a recent stay for two weeks on Ward 40 due to a very bad infection in my plural space. I was unbelievably anxious which was understandable, the were nothing but Angels to me! I cannot sing their praises enough, every Doctor, Consultant, Nurse & HCA were so very kind & caring. I am now home & recovering. Thank you so very much for all of your kindness, & compassion Tameside Hospital! I went in for a hernia procedure on Friday 10th January to the Day Surgery Unit and have only praise for how things went. We were early and reception opened at 7.20 as there were several waiting. From reception to recovery there was friendly and all was explained clearly as to how things would proceed.I would like to mention Sam, Emily, Tash, Olu and Nicola for their and attention whilst preparing for the procedure and after returning to the ward. All the were amazing from start to finish , I cannot thank them enough . A massive Thank you from me . Went in with daughter it was a 4 hr wait it was busy so fair enough but seen for raging temperatures throught the day on sepsis pathway had been in the room 7 hrs after triage had to knock on the door due to my daughter being BRIGHT RED and blotchy I asked them to check her temperature which was 41! We were taken through she was hallucinating had some medication and bloods taken left in there for another 2 then asked to move back to the room to be my daughter was being admitted and needed it antibiotics was there was no cot she needed to sleep in a bed but if she fell out it would be my fault !! So was in A&E 12 hours On the ward the following day asked the nurse to check my daughter as she was shivering but boiling hot to be it was just parental anxiety she is fine I insisted she had her temperature checked it was 40.9 and she had rigors so medication was finally given All in all been sent away with MORE antibiotics and if her temperature continues for the next 2 days bring her back in ?!!? Won’t be going back to Tameside shocking Went in with 10/10 agonising gallstone pain. Was only offered ibuprofen -as I’d already had paracetamol. You’d assume clinicians were aware gallstone pain is some of the worst you can experience and be aware much stronger drugs than OTC painkillers can be offered. But no, I was left with no pain relief, rocking on all 4s on the floor for 5 in tears. When I was finally seen - the doctor didn’t even examine me, just said bloods were fine and to take paracetamol. Not one member there showed any compassion apart from the person who booked me in who looked slightly concerned as I was struggling to speak through the tears. Animals are treated better then they treat here My son was in A&E with a fractured leg.Even though we had to wait for sometime, the treatment and experience was a very good one for me as a parent and my son. He was well taken of and all his needs met. Want to say very big thank you to the children and young people's ward, orthopedic Doctors, the emergency Doctors and nurses. They all did a fantastic job👍👍👍. Some of the doctors are extremely good specialists! if i wanted to keep this short and.. not so sweet but simple.. where do i start? well first off the doctors were hanging out on their phones in the middle of the walk in area, they kept bumping the up, i got there, they said 3 hours, when i left, it was about 5 time, i left without getting checked up. i noticed how much the differences are between at oldham and this one. i mean, Oldham is just overcrowded. but.. they get stuff done, on time. this hospital? far from that. i advise to never go here unless its super urgent. the injured at the walk-in area were more polite than the damn staff! thanks to this experience, im never gonna be even caught DEAD in a hospital. send me straight to the grave. dont try and save me. ive been given enough for a first impression of this hospital. thats as short as i can keep it. waiting times horrible, rude staff, act like they are at home relaxing on their phones. no. just. no. never gonna catch me near this place again.
