Had to send the breakfast back. Ordered bacon and eggs. We specifically said crispy bacon. The bacon didn’t even look like it hit the pan. They tried to say that they couldn’t change it. It was premade. This was because they couldn’t be bothered. It’s a tourist trap. We insisted. When it came back it was edible. That’s about it. Don’t think we would ever come back. Expensive for what you receive. Perfect place for aperitivo. They give some free snacks when you order drinks. pizza looks worse than pizza hut’s. it’s not italian, it’s pure american This was one of the most disappointing and unpleasent experience I've had in a bar so far. The waiters were extremely rude. When we tried to order they simply ignored us. After they finally decided to acknowledge us the attitude of the waiter was horrible as well. He was completely uninterested in us. We wanted to have a nice breakfast there so we asked for 6 brioches and some drinks. Then we were told that there were only 3 brioches left. (It was only around 10 am). We asked whether there is any other pastries left and he responded with a simple no. Later we went into to shop to use the toilet and we saw that it was full of pastries that we could've ordered. On the top of that it was a complete rip off. Having to pay 60 € for 3 brioches 3 glasses of water and 3 orange juices is ridiculous. Would definitely not recommend if you don't want to waste your money. The worst food so far in 3 weeks of travel in Italy. Canned green beans, frozen corn, and dry tuna in one salad. A caprese salad with NO basil and unripe tomatoes. Bread/buns hard to the touch. Oranges imported from Egypt. All of this during the height of summer in Liguria - one of the finest produce growing areas ever. (One dish was good - the pesto lasagna.) Our waiter was kind however half our food was served before our beverages and the rest of our food much later. Seems the attitude of the owners is - ‘We don’t care. We don’t have to. Portofino offers a captive audience.’ Awful service, prices are absolutely diabolical €10 for a coffee!
