I find the Walford Mill Crafts unwelcoming with an especially uninviting quality but the Millstream Bistro was very pleasant before it permanently closed. Lovely old mill building converted into Artisan work spaces and shops selling their crafts. There is also a Cafe that sells yummy cakes and muffins with excellent coffee....the baguettes are also fab. Nice place for a quick look if you’re visiting Wimborne. There is an inexpensive car park adjacent to the craft centre and a very nice coffee shop with a lovely outside seating area on good days. The craft centre is good but the items on sale are generally expensive. There’s not a great deal to see but if you’re passing worth calling in. Didn't realise this place was here. Gorgeous spot by the river. Lots of parking. Craft centre wasn't open but the lovely cakes made up for it! Interesting but quite small Had a lovely vintage tea what a lovely interesting place staff in cafe were so friendly sat by the river so relaxing Very nice location to have Lunch and Tea There are some wonderful artisans here, to admire and buy their work. Silver, pottery, embroidery, hand drawn cards, one-off artwork and jewellery of all types. It's so lovely to be able to speak to the designers and talk about their work. I really enjoyed my time. Very pleasant place to sit on a sunny day with a small selection of lunch time treats which we had. Or some very delicious looking cakes. Local roasted coffee and Dorset tea on offer among the other choices of drinks. Nice service with a smile too. Great fun looking at the old mill. In the nearby cafe I envied another table for their pizza and chips but I did enjoy my afternoon tea I shared with my dear mother. The grounds are nice, especially near the river and the bridge. Without sounding horrid the ‘art’ is a bit how do you say, like toot. The pictures were beautiful but everything else, jewellery and ceramics are something you’d look at but never ever buy. It’s not to my taste. The cafe was crowded , screaming kids (just go outside with them or don’t bring them they get bored and play up, no one likes a screaming brat) staff were pleasant scones and tea delightful but a ham salad sandwich should NOT contain peppers or grated carrot. Stale and dry bread. Just stop trying to be pretentious. Sometimes good old fashioned sarnies are what people want. The justification for a toastie of £10 is a little ludicrous. You certainly attract the clientele you want. So if you’re an arty farty sourdough smashed avocado cyclist/dog walker/wellyboot wearing gentle parenting type this place is for you and if you’re not just avoid Good collection of local craft artists in this relax spot by the mill. I guest it just needs a little bit more publicity within (& beyond) Dorset to do itself justice. A wonderful place to visit, to see Craft Makers/Artists creating and selling their work. Then you can have a coffee/tea or lunch in the Little Pickle cafe. Lovely cappuccino Nice place to look at.
