A lovely mountain, some great runs for the family and the food at the bottom restaurant is very nice and very reasonably priced. It was unseasonably warm and the snow wasn't great but it wasn't over crowded either. Definitely a piste that we enjoyed but was hard work with wet slushy snow by mid day. There are very good paths there but it is not quite easy to find a way to the parking place. Decent service, prices a bit hight for the number of lifts, good safety Great place for family skiing and wintersports Great and big ski area. Free parking and day tickets only 33 euros. Had a great day skiing with my colleagues :-) Perfect for all levels. Day passes are reasonably priced. Enough runs to keep you busy for a few hours. All runs were open, and lifts weren't busy. The overall area is great for what you can expect. Different levels, good service etc. However, if you’re looking for good skiing I recommend heading to the bigger areas. Much more as a snowboarder, I recommend against it, as some of the lifts are terrible for boarders and amateurs in general. I am snowboarder and I hate going to Balderschwang during the weekend with a passion. And it is not because of the area. The areas is actually quite beautiful and wild. The snow conditions were perfect. The snow was shiny and crisp, the ski runs were very well prepared. But, hell, some of the lifts are so painful to a snowboarded that they can be used as torture devices. For example T-bar lift C, from Loipen Kiosk to Gelbhansekopf, can be easily named "amputate yourself your leg." And using this lift with a snowboard for more than two times you can easily learn why. Waiting in a queue for 20-30 minutes does not alleviate the pain. And the ski run number 5 can be named "tow-a-crying kid". The "tow"-ing is always and the "crying" is coming on the second try to go down ski run number 5. The ski resort is badly connected so you can see that one part of the resort gets full, when the other one is almost empty. If there is hell on Earth for snowboarders in 2023 then this is Balderschwang. And it is beautiful.
