The dessert and wine (hint: try the organic red, an explosion of peppery vielle vignes goodness) are remarkable but our dishes although not particularly tasty by nature turned out a bit bland in comparison. A little work in this area will go a long way to making the dining experience here top notch. A truly stunning and serene setting in a charming small town that’s worth the trip. We have visited many botanical gardens in the US and across Europe and this ranks among the most tranquil places we’ve been. We arrived at opening on a weekday so we had the entire garden to ourselves and it was a delight. The tea room is lovely and you couldn’t ask for a nicer place to relax and enjoy the morning. We went there for a walk after lunch. It was peaceful and beautifull Stunning. So peaceful and quiet. Wonderful food and service in the restaurant. Fabulous garden with a great story, the lady that developed it to its current state (RIP) was an amazing caretaker. Well worth it anytime of the year. The frogs provide a lovely soundtrack! We didn’t eat, so next time for that. We dined at the beautiful and walked around the gardens afterwards, which is only possible in the evening (without paying).
