Stunning trail up to Santuario Madonna Della Corona. Tough climb, 600m elevation gain over 2km. Lots and lots of stairs, plenty of uneven ground. Upper sections are unpleasant if you're scared of heights Small tucked into a big rock. Walking there you don't get to see the view from most of the pictures, but it's a nice walk. Perfect place... Beautiful 500+ year old Catholic nestled into the side of a cliff face. To get there you park on the street above (there are two parking lots), then down a serpentine path that’s cool and shady in summer. Entrance is free, but donations are welcomed. Really interesting to see and experience, especially if you’re staying nearby around Lake Garda. This rocks Very cool experience! It's a hidden gem I'd definitely recommend coming to see. The down to the is fairly short (40 minutes). But the views are beautiful! Great place, great trekking experience! Strongly recommend nature path, more satisfaction than going by car. Trust me 😉 🦯🦯🥾 This is a wonderful with the most spectacular views! I did the in approximately 1,5 hours each way (so about 3 hours going both up and down), and with a lot of small breaks on the way. I don't have any hiking really, and even though it was challenging, it's definitely worth it and very manageable. The steps are steep, so I'd still recommend stretching before or after this trip. And as always - remember to Leave No Trace after your hike! :):) I went in April and there were still a lot of tourists at the top, but the itself is very quiet - if you're lucky you get to see a mountain goat! There's a bar right at the top beside the church, where you can order a coffee, panini or some pasta. I'd also recommend visiting the rooms beneath the church, which contained long walls covered in photographs of people and different ornaments. There's also a room with glass boxes with human skulls and mummified people (they looked very real). The is stunning, and fortunately I was there during mess - an absolutely beautiful experience. I went by train, and got off at the nearest station Peri - walking from Peri to Brentino takes about 40min to an hour, along some lightly trafficked roads. The entire was beautiful and very scenic. The hills are amazing, and even just the steps itself up the mountain create a magic atmosphere. Amazing walk. Bring water and preferably good walking shoes, but comfy sneakers also work as long as you are careful on your way down. There is a longer route marked as “expert” that we did not dare to try due to having normal shoes. Next time… You mostly walk in the shade. Fantastic views, cannot recommend this one enough.
