It's good that we stopped to look at our village from the other side of the bay. You know, there is a lack of a ferry between Galway and Kenvara or Ballyvaughan. Why not, like across the Shannon River to the city of Tarbert. Between Spiddle and Ballyvaughan is 13 km or go around the bay 62 km and also through Galway. Ferry, ferry and again ferry, it's so cool! Lovely little beach probably gets pretty busy since it's the closest to Spiddal Very nice place, great for a walk or just to have a few minutes of rest while on the wild Atlantic way Beautiful views out to the sea. Definitely worthwhile stopping to take it all in! My first trip across to Spiddal and I am so glad I did go. I know I am going to be coming back here many times. The scenery during the drive across from Moycullen is beautiful. Lovely little pier. There’s a walkway from the carpark which brings you down here and over a small bridge. The beach is right in front of the pier. It’s a 20 minute drive from Salthill. Easy to park, lovely spot for a walk, also good for fishing or swimming.
