Rathbaun was a way to traditional Irish life. Our group was warmly welcomed and treated to a of the barn. Witnessing Bailey, the Border Collie, expertly herding the was fun to watch. We also had the opportunity to bottle-feed adorable lambs and then enjoyed a tea and in the quaint thatched farmhouse. After tea, we explored the original farmhouse and its charming flower garden. Rathbaun is a must-visit for anyone seeking a truly authentic Irish experience. There's a tiny and adorable gift shop, too! Highly recommended! Rathbaun is evidently a frequent stop for many groups/school field trips because all the reviews on Yelp and Google highlight that. I’m glad they’re able to do so because this is certainly off the beaten path and not a destination I’d be able to find on my own. It’s well worth the because Rathbaun has built a fun and interactive session where everyone gets to make scones, enjoy the farm, and then come back to the dining area to enjoy fresh baked with jam and cream. I didn’t know and could be such a combo but everyone on the thoroughly enjoyed the morning here. Everyone was so kind, the were delicious, and Fintan was very knowledgeable about all things sheep-related so it was wonderful to hear from him. If you’re in Co. Made and while they baked we heard about life on the farm. Saw a dog at work. The were ( with homemade jam and cream) and we also had tea and coffee. They have a small gift shop where you can get the recipies and you can see the inside of a thatched house. Very special people. Really enjoyed this. Not a dull moment! So much fun for my family - a major highlight of our trip to Ireland. My 5-year-old son had a blast and was made to feel like the life of the party with Evelyn, Mary and Finn. We learned how to make proper and even my son was put to work so we all had a hand in it. Then he got to feed a bottle to a lamb and we learned all about Irish farming, including a sheepdog demonstration. Evelyn was so sweet - she even gave my son a true farmer’s knit hat as a souvenir and helped him feed a scone to her pet Frank. Class, as they say. Just so much fun we cannot stop talking about our visit to Rothbaun, and especially Frank! If you are visiting Cliffs of Moher or Galway, make sure not to miss the chance to reserve a visit at Rothbaum Farm! It was so much fun learning to make scones! Really enjoyed ourselves. They were so too! The staff is so fun and friendly and so grateful to Evelyn for making special accommodations for us. They were sold out with a large tour, but they made room for two more. Try to make reservations far in advance but try at the last minute if you have to. Pauline taught us to make the and had a funny and kind disposition. She was willing to put up with all of my photos and videos. The is fun to see with many kinds of sheep. 🐑 The herding is fascinating to watch. 🐕 The donkeys are silly and fun to take pictures of. 🫏 Be sure to buy the rhubarb jam with ginger. It is amazing and my husband wished that I had bought home a bigger jar. We really enjoyed our at Rathbaun Farms. We made scones, watched a dog demonstration, fed a baby lamb and learned a lot about farms and the different types of sheep. The owners were very friendly. The was for all ages (we were a group of 5, ranging from 9 to 69 years old). Can’t recommend this enough. I brought two friends visiting from the US and we had the loveliest afternoon. Evelyn, Fintan & all those working on the were so welcoming and kind. A really well organised, informative, and true Irish activity that I wouldn’t miss! and tea/coffee were delightful. 10/10, will be recommending to everyone looking for a activity! I’m so glad we were able to visit Rathbaun Farm. Mary, her family, and the staff were incredibly kind. We booked our tickets in the morning for a noon tour. We arrived and were welcomed into a lovely dining area. Mary brought us a beautiful homemade spread of scones, rhubarb/ginger preserves, fresh cream, and coffee and tea. We had no expectation of this generous hospitality. We then had a very informative from Fintan. The absolute highlights for me were feeding baby lambs and getting to hold a 2-3 week old lamb. It was wonderful to see a small snapshot of life on a in Galway and with such kindness. 100% recommend visiting Rathbaun Farm! Thank you Mary and Fintan for making our trip so memorable! What a time we had! The beautiful and wonderful people made this one of our favorite experiences in Ireland. Frances and Nora helped us make and kept us laughing all morning! We started off by meeting Mary and Evelyn who welcomed us with open arms and a nice fire to sit by. It felt like we were greeted by family! We then made with Mary - everything was so organized, fun, and the directions were easy to follow. While we were waiting for the to bake, we visited the area where we learned about different types of and watched a herding demonstration with Bailey the dog. We even got to bottle feed a few lambs - they were so sweet! Then we went back into the cottage to enjoy our with jam, coffee, and tea. We had the best time! Absolutely one of the highlights of our trip to Galway! Evelyn and the rest of the staff are so lovely, they make you feel right at home. The homemade are a highlight in itself, they’re wonderful. Overall I would say it’s a unique that I would recommend anyone coming to Galway to try. We had a very fun visit in early Aug 2025. Enjoyed the history, the beautiful thatched roof cottage, Bailey the dog, seeing different breeds of and making/eating scones. A lovely time - highly recommend! My family and I visited Rathbaun a little over a month ago and had a wonderful experience. We arrived a little earlier than expected, and were greeted with warmth and kindness.
