Cool A beautiful place with fantastic views of Galway bay. The prom walk starts at the Claddagh and ends just past BlackRock. If the tide is out you may make it to Silverstand, but I've never done that. One thing to note is that the sun only sets on Galway bay in the winter, mainly December, if you are looking from the Salthill prom. A very windy day for our visit but still enjoyed our time to Salthill. Never realised how close it was to Galway City. Lots of people walking, keeping warm Never disappoints and getting a lovely day was also spot. They say that you can see killer whales and whales. It is a long walk around the coast. and amazing weather Walk the prom on any day, get to Black Rock, make sure you kick the wall, otherwise the walk doesn't count! Don't believe me, watch the locals! 😂🤣😁 A long coastal prom, wide footpath that accommodates kids, dog walkers, strollers and runners. Traffic is usually busy, during peak hours and the free parking is great but can be hard to find a space. Some coffee shops. No trip to Galway is complete without a visit to Salthill! Lovely walk along the promenade. with lots of lovely coffee shops & ice cream places dotted along the way. I love this place ❤️ Salthill Village has something for everybody from sandy beaches, the promenade walk, indoor/outdoor amusements, swimming pool, lots of shops, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and persuasions. Family friendly everyday Beautiful beach, lovely place for a day's outing with Fun Park across. One of my favourite places in Galway, especially on Saturday and Sunday Mornings.
