Here is your restaurant review translated and adapted into English: Restaurant Review I recently visited a place that could be more accurately described as a café rather than a proper restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. The fries were a clear indicator of poor oil management — it looked like the oil hadn't been changed in a long time. The seasoning was excessive and unevenly applied to everything. The meat and potatoes lacked freshness and flavor. The dishes didn’t look properly cleaned after washing, still showing visible marks. The chicken skin was hard, and the pork schnitzel (karbonāde) was tough and overcooked. I honestly can't remember the last time I had something that tasted so stale and unappetizing. The only redeeming parts of the meal were the solyanka soup, which was decent, and the lamb soup — though it was far too spicy for a balanced flavor. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place unless serious improvements are made. Fantastic restaurant, a real gem. Quite extensive and diverse menu which sometimes can be worrying, however Meka manages to pull it off. All of the food was fresh, very well prepared, really tasty and with a slight twist or something to make it more interesting/special. The warm sushi and fish&chips were excellent. Good value for money too. Ambience is very pleasant and cosy with friendly and accommodating staff. Dogs were welcome. Super cosy atmosphere, sort of a tavern style concept is established here. A wide range of menu offers plenty of selections and the prices are reasonable. Another plus is; the staff is very friendly, which is not common in the area. Would definitely recommend. The guy at the bar on the 30th of June at noon was picking his nose so hard that I was disgusted. Never washed his hands and continued making people’s drinks. Other than that, this was the first time in Latvia that the service was prompt, I would say more than ready and always one step ahead. Congrats to chef and service, shame for the bartender. Atmospheric place. Outside looks no special, but inside really unusual place. Wide choice of food: from traditional home dishes to sushi😁 Harčo: could be better, as lack of rice and ingredients. But tasty. 6/10 Seafood asian soup: 10 out of 10. Grauzdiņi: 4/10.source is good, but itself :( not the right choice of bread.. Tartar:9/10. Tartar itself Delicious!!! But bread :((( could be toasted. Hot Ice cream:7/10. Just not my taste and was not so hot. Potatoes with herring : 10/10. Wine and Beer: good choice. Waiters are really polite. Good and Quick service. Nice prices. Thank you. Definitely we will come back. Went to this place during my holidays in Latvia and kept coming back. Tried nearly everything on the menu and everything was good! The staff is lovely and the food is surprisingly good no matter what you order. Would recommend to anyone who wants to try proper Latvian food and eat in a nice atmosphere. Cocktails are incredible too!!! You can see they pay attention to detail and are customer focused establishment. Great place - fantastic interior and atmosphere. Big food selection and good quality meals. Dog friendly. Good food.
