Castle closed, garden closed. As usual in France there is zero information when/if it will be open again. We were walking around with several additional groups of disappointed visitors. I wish I could tell something about the castle inside but it was closed with no marks of how to get in. Meanwhile on the website it states as open. Well, it looks great outside (no idea inside) and the garden is beautiful with working fountains. Much as it pains me to give the castle 1 star as I’m sure it’s great inside but I’ll never know. You have to book at the Montpellier tourist office so you just can’t rock up and go in if you notice it passing by, you have to actively know of the place and book before you get there. Even though I was just one person and the tour guide could take money, there was no flexibility. I’m couldn’t get in. But it gets worse. I was talking to a couple who had bought tickets and despite paying for them they couldn’t -resent a physical receipt so they couldn’t get in either. So for this places attitude alone: one star. The building exterior and the gardens were lovely though. My Castle this is where i born. Super Beautiful place so quiet Castle was closed. It seems you have to book through the tourism office of Montpellier. Could access the terrace through stepsPark at the parc du château.We park near the church so has to walk à bit.
