Popped out for dinner. I've been past many times and never went in until last night. I been missing out! Nice enthusiastic greeting. The was a menu, so a return visit is needed, I think. We had scallops to start.... It's REALLY , size and well cooked..... then the burger and truffle fries.... again really nice, I would like the burger a bit more juicy, but it was good. The ladies had fish and chips, this was also a meal. size well cooked. The sweets are especially the mini ones with a hot drink. Coffee was as well. The place again well decorated with a homely feel. Cleanliness 10/10 Service 9/10 Quality of ingredients 10/10 Food cooking 10/10 Toilet very good! 10/10 Somewhere to definitely visit again. It's our local pub and is always busy and friendly. The food - not there really. that the choice of gluten free options is fantastic (that was our deciding criteria). BUT I had to return the steak as it arrived as a piece of bouncing rubber, drenched in gravy. #2 was ever so slightly better (read edible), still drenched in gravy... Sitting in the garden on a winter’s evening was lovely, with a relaxed atmosphere. The only downside was the service, which was a little slow and inattentive, particularly given it was a quieter Thursday evening. That said, it wouldn’t put me off returning. Overall, I’d definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the local area – it’s a spot for a meal in a charming setting. Evening dinner for five. Can’t believe no charge included as sure that many customers assume it’s included and just ‘tap’ their card without realising so maybe the wonderful are missing out.
