My husband speaks with them in Serbian, so they are friendly and helpful. I can't comment on what the would be like if I was left to order in English. Generally the place looks clean. Great place to have a beer to escape the early afternoon heat. We visited this recently and at first everything seemed great. The server was very attentive, polite, and did an excellent job. The food also came out fresh and was enjoyable. Unfortunately, our overall experience was ruined by the behavior of the owner. After we had already ordered and settled in, the owner came up to our table and told us that our kids were not allowed to be going in and out of the restaurant. I explained to him that they’re just kids, and his response was, “This is a restaurant.” What shocked us even more was the clear double standard. Before we sat down, there were about five children running in and out, screaming, shouting, and making a scene — yet no one said a word to them or their families. The only difference was that those kids were white, while my friend’s kids are mixed (Black). The timing of it all made the situation even worse. He waited until after we had ordered and committed to dining there before choosing to approach us. It felt targeted, unfair, and discriminatory. Restaurants are supposed to be welcoming places for everyone, and instead we were left feeling singled out, uncomfortable, and judged for something that should never be an issue. It’s 2025, and to see this kind of attitude and behavior still happening is honestly unbelievable and heartbreaking. No family should ever have to experience being treated differently because of race, especially in a place of hospitality where respect and inclusivity should come first. The server and the food were good, but the owner’s behavior overshadowed everything else. Racism has no place in any business, and because of this experience, we will not be returning — and we feel it’s important to share this so that others are aware.
