Very tasty goat cheese salad, prices are ok. Nice location. Perfect for a break in between sights. Incredibly tasty mussels & local Gris wine. Have been visiting this restaurant for many years and missed it's atmosphere and good honest food when it was closed. Very pleased to see it had reopened but, oh dear, it has changed. Now expensive posh food with no atmosphere. I will not be taking my groups there any more. The staff was extremely rude and unpleasant. For my part, I asked if I needed to wait to be seated or select one of the many dozen or so open tables. The staff's replies were rude and contemptuous. They then seated two (male youth) who walked in after me before I had left the establishment. It invoked feelings that were inconsistent with the places of honor so close by, so I left. I saw nothing, especially appetizing on the menu or being served. The place had an unclean, poorly managed vibe. I think I will place a food truck in front of this hovel and sell bratwurst and wine. Within a month, this disgrace of a snack bar would be shuttered. I hate this place. I'll leave it that. The Abris des Pèlerins existed first for workers at the Verdun gravesites. It quickly transformed into a place for mourning families to dine while visiting the Verdun grave sites. For a number of years, the association départementale des amis et parents d'enfants inadaptés meuse operates the location. This association supports intellectually and physically disabled members of the community employed in the restaurant. The cuisine is a fresh daily menu and top notch as are the wine and local beer options. Our waitress was attentive and informative as was the gentleman waiter who served as support. The waitress also gave guidance on the dishes. Entree, main dish, and dessert were all freshly prepared and excellent. A warm and welcoming location to stop as you visit the more somber sites of memory. Pretty good and pleasant lunch. One negative is that they don't have an English menu. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!! The chichen works as they want. Sometines they close at 2 pm! Great place for lunch! Service was fast, the menu had a good selection, and the beef with vegetables and crème brûlée were excellent. Worth a stop if you’re in the area. Just be aware that at 2:00 pm they stopped accepting new guests — most likely for a lunch break, which isn’t indicated on Google Maps.
