Having had a hair transplant leaving my donor area ruined several years back, I've been self conscious about the see-through-ness of my hair. A lot of people that look into SMP are seemingly bald (at least most of the pictures online or on their websites would lead me to believe that they brave the shave). Creative Scalps was one of the few that had examples of where they had applied density to people that wanted to keep their hair, and I honestly couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the pictures. I literally thought they were photoshopped! Now I'm pretty extensive when I look into anything, and if I was going to be messing around with my hair again, I was definitely going to get it right this time. I'd never heard of SMP, my wife put me on to it as she shared a post on Instagram of another clinic. Whilst I thought it looked good, it didn't look quite "natural" to me and so begun my research into the world of SMP. After hours of digging around, Creative Scalps kept coming up. I tend to use reddit to find authentic reviews or people discussing their experiences and Marc, Will and Sammy from Creative Scalps kept popping up as recommended. In Every. Single. Thread. I took the plunge and reached out, chatting with Sara on WhatsApp who was at every stage and then had an initial video chat with Marc, to get to understand the process a bit better. He wasn't pushy at all, very matter of fact, answered all my questions and gave me time to think about it. Due to his availability and me wanting to start a bit sooner, I decided to book with Will who was available a bit sooner. (You will also find Scalp Nation, that Will runs comes up frequently on those reddit forums FYI). Again, I had a quick video chat with Will, which went great, we figured out the dates and got booked in! Due to my tight timelines and availability I think Will even kindly came down on Sundays for each of my 3 appointments, what a guy! Fast forwards to the first appointment. I've never had a tattoo (albeit the hair transplant was ridiculously painful) so wasn't sure what to expect, but honestly it wasn't painful at all if that's something worrying to you. I met Will and Marc and they were both guys, Will took some before pictures and got started on my head, which took several hours. Throughout we just chatted, joked etc and it was very easy going, Will is a lovely guy and a pleasure to chat to. Getting home after my first appointment, my wife was shocked at how different my head looked, it had already made such a vast improvement! Even in aggressive lighting where my hair would normally be see-through. My next two sessions went similarly, experience (even when I was very ill and had to reschedule one appointment), really easy chatting to Will and extremely pleased with the results. I'm about 1 month on from my last appointment and it looks so so much better than before. For context, before if I hadn't washed my hair for even 1 day, it would be greasy and see-through, like to the scalp. Now if I don't wash my hair for several days (which you have to do after an appointment) it will still be greasy (cause just my hair) but it is not see-through at all! It's like some sort of dark magic Will has worked on my head. If I ever want a top up, I'll 100% be going back to Will, he's done such a job and is a top guy. Thanks to the entire Creative Scalps team, Sara, Marc, Will and Sammy! If you've got this far, stop reading reviews, close all those reddit forums / SMP website recommendations and just book with one of the Creative Scalps team, you won't regret it. Note: I’ve added some pictures. I haven’t taken any proper once after my third session but rest assured it looks even better than the photos below after the second session and the night before my third session at home - can you even believe the before and after? It’s mental! After months of stress dealing with a botched smp job and partial laser removal, losing hope, Sammy came to the rescue and smoothed it all over with some clean, fresh work. I am forever grateful. Smooth service, clean facilities, and good people. Looking forward to a top up when I’m back in the country! My procedure was carried out by Owen and the final outcome has far exceeded my expectations going in. The SMP blends in perfectly with the rest of my hair to create a real and full effect. I wholeheartedly recommended Creative Scalps to anyone considering SMP - 10/10. Couldn't be happier with the whole experience. Marc and the were excellent in talking me through how they would fix a bad SMP procedure that I wasn't with. This included 1 laser session by Nicole who was very reassuring. Fantastic experience from start to finish. Owen is a highly skilled artist who takes amounts of care with his work. The have blown me and others away and I will be returning when the time comes. The whole couldn't have done more to make me feel welcome it was an extremely positive experience. Honestly a brilliant process from start to finish. Before going into it I obviously had reservations and that is completely natural. Chatting those through the Sammy really helped and I can say truthfully that having SMP done has changed how I see myself. Now I look in the mirror and feel like I can see the face I had before I went bald, it has changed my life hands down and given me the confidence I was hoping it would. Sammy was great, you can tell he cares about the he does and I felt like he had my best interests in mind when talking through design and darkness of pigment etc. A true professional, he took a situation, that naturally has a lot of nerves attached to it, and made it a smooth process that I felt I could trust. Sara was very helpful with booking, arranging meetings and generally keeping me in the loop and I really appreciated the level of contact. I am very with the and I'm sure I'll be back in the future if/when it needs a touch up. In terms of the SMP itself I couldn't be happier and would genuinely that if you are bald and shaving your head but aren't with how you look, confidence, framing of your face etc, then take the leap and get SMP done by Creative Scalps. Cheers team, appreciate you and your work. I regret to say I am incredibly disappointed with my SMP result from Creative Scalp. I'd prefer to stay anonymous, so I won't add photos. The company is well revered online, so I had high expectations, but the final result was unconvincing, botched SMP and it made me extremely self conscious. The impression sizes were too large, the pigment was too dark and the placement was erratic/random. I have already sought out getting it removed by a laser practitioner. For what it's worth, My SMP practitioner was friendly and professional. Nevertheless, I expected much better for what amounted to a £3,000 procedure. EDIT: Response in reply to the owner's comment. I can only assure you this is not a fake review. I'd prefer to remain anonymous but I will dig up photos of the paperwork i signed and attach it when I find. My SMP was done by Sammy, and I spoke extensively with Sarah beforehand. I'm to continue to give feedback if you're interested Life changing experience 5* I had SMP done a few years prior with another company but I was never fully with the finish and I'd still wear hats where I could. I went to Marc to see if he could fix it with his magic, the result has completely changed my confidence. When I mention I've had SMP people genuinely don't believe it! I was a bit apprehensive about having it done again, but Marc spent the time to talk about what I wanted, made sure I was before starting. Nothing felt rushed and the whole are welcoming. As for the SMP I’m over the moon, it looks fantastic, something I did not think was even possible. Highly recommended this service. It’s been nearly 6 months since my first SMP session with Sammy. Sammy is and all round top bloke and incredibly professional. He tells you anything and everything you need to know before you start your sessions, so that you go into all your sessions with complete faith and confidence in the artist. Sammy is a true magician with his art and I couldn’t fault his work, that being said my only wishes are that my hairline was slightly more symmetrical. However, this is more for myself as it isn’t really noticeable to others. I’d give a 4.5 review if it were possible.
