Il museo si trova dentro il Tiez una struttura storica bellissima. Oggi 19 ottobre 2025, nell' ambito dei progetti della capitale europea della cultura si è tenuto un meraviglioso festival delle mele. È stata una festa per le famiglie e per persone di tutte le età. I volontari hanno cucinato le torte alle mele e le hanno esposte e offerte gratis. Inoltre ci sono stati canti e balli. Nella biblioteca si sono svolti giochi e dibattiti sul tema. It was very interesting to see so many perfect fossils of plants. I think it is very specialized in this area and I really think it is worth the visit. It is a bit complicated to find it because it is inside of a big building with a public library etc. This place has an insectarium within and you can use the same ticket to get in the insectarium. There, they have amazing insects, scorpions, and spiders, too, so be aware if you have phobia. I really enjoyed it; it was so informative and interesting. I think it is great to visit with kids also. And last, to use the toilets, you should ask the person there to open the door for you. They do have closets for your bag, too. The museum shop is inadequate, though. I would love to get a souvenir from there but couldn't find anything nice, and there were not many options. You can see many live insects. The intresting part is the spiders are so huge. You can slowly observe all the live insects. They are all migrant kids who speak German as a second language, and many of them have behavioural difficulties - they are not always the easiest group to handle. Our tour guide, Stefan, did an excellent job. He kept them constantly engaged, and they learned a lot. The activities we did together were entertaining and we all really enjoyed our day. Ein Besuch lohnt sich wirklich und ich kann das Haus grundsätzlich weiterempfehlen. Allerdings war die Lebendausstellung für mich sehr schockierend. Mehrere Tiere wurden in Bedingungen gezeigt, die meiner Meinung nach nicht artgerecht waren. Besonders in einem Museum, das Wissen vermittelt und Vorbildfunktion hat, sollte auf eine tiergerechte Haltung großer Wert gelegt werden.
