Great visit to the geology hub of Cornwall, Kennack Sands. And found a fabulous coffee shop. Cornwall is a geologist dream and Kennack Sands has fine examples of the major rock groups in Cornwall. Use a pamphlet such as 'beneath the skin of the lizard' for a great review and photo examples. All the rocks are on the as pebbles. Great café too on the side, best prices in the area and a super charming proprietor. Great clean with adjacent car park, lifeguard post & 2x cafes. Access road is narrow with a few random parking locations & could get very busy at peak season. But, an enjoyable location with fabulous views. Lovely near the Lizard 2 cafe s and rocky area - tight roads but rewarded at the end with good parking! Wild and beautiful winter day. Powerful waves and strong gusts of wind led to a very different experience than in summer. I was very fatigued after a wobbly wander close by, and so only made it a short distance from the car, but will return to see more. The cafe was closed, but there were other things to do like try out the telescope looking out over the bay, the was large and looked like sand though I couldn't make it down there today. I enjoyed how raw it felt and looked, a light mist was starting to blow in as the sun was setting behind me. Toilets were up a path that looked a little too steep and narrow for my crutches, but maybe wouldn't look so daunting if this were the first adventure of the day. Smooth, flat concrete and timber walkways were easy to navigate on crutches and by wheelchair, and would be easy with a push chair. Great little with a few cafes and a gift shop nearby. Lots of rocks for rock pooling. Quiet cove with lifeguards nearby. Toilets also available. Would be suitable for children and families. Loved it here, nice stretch of sand with sand dunes at the far end, two good cafes and toilet facilities close by. When the tide goes out good rock pools form for the k8ds so a good day out with lots to do, car park is £8 for the day so not to bad all things considered We were a little bit disappointed on first visit to the for an evening stroll. Lots of litter about the sand. Didn't have the best weather to enjoy its beauty but made the most of the wind with a kite. Cafe, toilets and parking at the bottom. Rock pools when tides out. Superb landscapes, close parking and beach. I would visit again ! Lovely little beach. Part is dog friendly, but you need to walk over the hill to the rear of the main to get to it. When the tide is out there is a huge collection of rock pools to go crabbing and see some small fish that get left behind. The tide does come right in though so keep an eye out as you can get cut off on some sections of the beach. Lovely but beware of the parking meters. Very strict and loads of fines dished out. Don't get caught out. 8.50 only covers 8 hrs....it doesn't cover you for the evening.
