Read reviews and thought we have to have Sunday lunch there, seeing as we had been in the week to pick their wonderful PYO fruits and vegetables, however we arrived and were shown to our table, drinks came quickly, Don't Order the Squash it's just coloured water, I mean yes staff probably been told not to use too much but at least make it so it tastes of orange or Blackcurrant, the waiting staff were amazing, food was served quickly and we were informed the Lamb for today was rolled lamb so had some fatty areas, in other words it was a cheaper rolled breast or shoulder, that didn't put off the hubby but my son who's autistic has a phobia of fat so opted for the chicken, myself and my youngest son had their rare breed pork now when the food arrived it looked lovely, but it was Luke warm, which meant my husbands lamb left a grease lining at the top of his mouth, then came the potatoes, if you don't have your own teeth don't try and eat them unless you have used fixer that day, they had a solid exterior which was disappointing as they were a nice potato, the swede mash and the pork was amazing I really can't fault that, the lop rare breed pork is so flavourful its lush, but I have to sadly admit that the rest of the veg was terrible, the carrots hadn't been peeled and some looked almost dirty still at least give them a scrub, yes I get veg is better in skin but carrots are always the exception, they were hard, so hard I couldn't stick a fork in, the cauliflower cheese was exactly the same although the flavour was nice the rest was just inedible, and peas and cabbage well it must have been dipped in hot water and that was all, they too were hard and inedible, the Yorkshires looked great and the top half was brilliant until the stodgy bottoms that had half the oil still sitting in them 🙄 overall the food was one of the most expensive, poorly cooked meals I've had, needless to say not one plate out of 4 were anywhere near clear, that really annoyed me as I hate waste but it was just terrible, after eating we sat there with our plates to the side and used napkins on top, yet 20 mins past and no one came to clear the plates, having a autistic child whom by this point wants to know where his dessert is and can he go home 🤦‍♀️ so I made the decision to head to the dessert counter ask for dessert to go and pay the bill. £97.15 for 2 adults 2 kids 3 pints of squash ½pt of Pepsi max and 2 childrens dessert and one adults, shocking for a meal that was wasted and to be brutally honest I've had better roasts off the too to go app. I admit desserts were the best part and I was able to share mine it was that big, it was an awful lot of money to waste that's for sure. Further to this When picking fruit the other day I brought some Judes chocolate custard that was reduced, it wasn't until I got home that day I had realised she had charged me full price, so today I took it back to the shop with the receipt to be basically called a liar by telling me that staff wouldn't have made that mistake if it was reduced they would have rung it up as so 😡 it's such a shame as I was so very impressed with them up until today, now I'll never visit again, even if their fruit is the most amazing, the way we've been treated today, is terrible. So annoyed Really lovely experience. I was really impressed with the food, great portion size, and happily swapped one cheese for another in my wrap. Food came out quickly and was delicious! I was very unexpectedly impressed. Obviously the desert counter was impressive, great price and delicious! The portions were massive so I took mine home with me! I'll be back, it was fab Having been to Cornwall a few times now, it's always quite difficult to find somewhere to go out and eat that isn't a pub or an Indian takeaway. A local suggested we try Trevaskis farm. Initially the menu quite confused with a mix of Asian foods, local fish dishes, and steak or burgers. We gave it a shot anyway and we were not disappointed. I opted for the burger, which was made to perfection. It wasn't one of these over stacked monstrosities, it was the perfect size with some amazing sauce on it. The rest of our table had the Sizzlers which looked and sounded too. I had also heard of there being a reasonable selection of cakes. The selection is actually vast and with the option of going half and half for an extra £1, it rude not to - though actually I'm not entirely sure what a full size portion. It like we were being given an extra portion for £1, not half and half. The atmosphere was a bit odd, it like a cross between a canteen and a conservatory. It wasn't bad, it just had a slight garden centre vibe. Well recommend a visit if you're in Cornwall. I'd say it's worth a 35-40 minute drive if you're looking for food and in the county We were very happy with our meal and our experience here! We were given generous portions and so clean and healthy after eating (important to me). I was very happy with my soup and gf bread. Portions were generous and reflected the price. At our table of 5, no favorite could be picked, especially with our group loving the pigs in blanket (kids), creamy squash mash, Yorkshire pudding, the turkey or beef, or the roasted squash, parsnip, and apple soup. Dessert was definitely taken to-go as we had no space in our stomaches but could not pass up the many wonderful options! Especially having so many GF options. We could not stay for dessert because we had to check-in to our hotel and put the kids to bed. Visiting sister at st ives and swung by to pick up some steaks from the farm shop. Didnt go to the restaurant as we were cooking at home. Very friendly service from Sam and learnt about the provenance of the beef and pork. We need to come back to try pork as we just cooked the beef we bought . The tomahawk,rib eyes and sirloin steaks were stellar! Delicious beef. Lovely farm shop with fantastic local produce. I picked up a delicious homemade quiche and sausage roll, some of the best home-grown tomatoes, plus their own cider and apple juice. Everything was excellent quality, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend! It’s my first time visiting this place,and it amazing! I love the atmosphere! ,we booked it for breakfast and then picking strawberries after ,the service was really nice and easy,the staff was very helpful We spent a wonderful day here! Having a family holiday in Cornwall with toddler to teenage, we celebrated our 21st anniversary with a trip to this farm. We started at the pick your own n was amazed (having been to a PYO in the past) the prices were better than at the supermarket (Aldi £2 for 150g of Wonky raspberries) at just 99p per 100g for Organic, fresh off the plant berries! The free cardboard punnets were a decent size per person n as a family of 6 we picked 3.5kg of fruit. Next to the farm shop which was also better than I expected! From artisan bread n Trevaskis own produce, the heritage tomatoes were just yummy n the eggs, being from all different breads were as colourful as tasty. Being r anniversary we decided to splurge on ribeye steak n Cornish crab. The local Devon Breed beef was so succulent n the fat on it was like butter! N the crab was really quality with barely any grit or broken shell at all n large chunks not just flakes. We went to visit all the beautiful animals, which kept the children very happy for a while, before visiting the onsite restaurant. Where we all loved each of the different desserts, there was even a significant selection for r dairyfree youngest, for once she never like she was missing out, with a huge creamy, fudgy, slab of chocolate cake.
