The wooden crosses don't seem to last long in this climate. Not sure if you need approval to place a larger cross but if you do, place a metal one of some kind so it lasts. There are a lot of names and tributes on the crosses. There is also a large gift shop Amber room (sales) and booths for locals to sell . Good bathroom( 1 euro). Well worth a stop.
