One of the Best Places To Visits in Roche Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Awesome place for a walk, just stay safe & take care when walking through the bush. This building is an old chapel dedicated to saint Michael's. The best place to park your car is near the soccer field. Mind boggling on how old this is and how they built it. It's a shame the powers at be! have blocked access inside rather than make it safer ....🤷🏽‍♂️ Really atmospheric. Stick to the footpath from the road during summer though, as the route from the playing field gets very overgrown with gorse and brambles! Shame you can no longer climb up to the ruins though. Parked up in the football club car park and hoofed it over some really rough terrain. Make sure you packed your food walking shoes! We found the ladder bit weren't brave enough to ignore the warning signs and venture up. We just clambered over the lower rocks for half an hour or so. Not very big, but this was one of our favourite ruins we've ever been to. Great views, rugged landscape. Well worth stopping off. Beautiful hidden gem , easy to find, supposed to be a car park but we could not find it , It was not sign posted, we parked in a layby near the sports club, there are toilet facilities near by in the Village opposite the church, there,s a steep climb up to the rock, but well worth it just for the beautiful vistas of Bodmin moor. A great place to tune in to some of Cornwall’s history with tales of monks, lepers and love. If you are agile you will be rewarded with amazing views from the top of the ruined castle with 360 degree views. There is lots of uneven ground on the walk up to the castle and around the area with fallen rocks and granite outcrops to boulder over. Good historical site. Parked in the free carpark around the corner and then walked to the public footpath. The footpath inside is not very well maintained so the bushes cover it a little. Looks good in rainy weather. Spooky vibe Great place to explore with the kids. Great views A little overgrown and uneven underfoot but perfectly manageable little walk.
