One of the Best Places To Visits in Charlestown Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Always a quiet soft sandy beach, a bit of a sun trap and sheltered sea so very safe for all ages. Pay and display carpark close by. Parked at the small car park, a short down to the beach. Use justpark app, £3 for upto 3 hours which is reasonable. The itself, not a spectacle. It's a small stretch of shingles and seaweeds with the tide in and cafe closed (when we visited). Instead, We took a short on the south west coast path (The trail winds toward Charlestown or Pentewan) and then headed straight to Carlyon Bay beach, which is just a 10 minutes drive away. I stay in a little cottage in Higher Porthpean just a 5 minute to this stunning beach…I’ve visited in darkest winter and mid summer solstice with moonlit skies and glistening slate. Just a fabulous beach, they do water sports and there’s a cafe too. There are rock pools when the tide is out slightly, at lowest tide I’ve experienced a massive expanse of sand as far as the cliffs. There used to be sign about no dogs in the summer months but newer signs mention nothing about restrictions. However checking the Cornwall website advises - No dogs on from 1st July to 31st August / 10am to 6pm, which used to be April to October no dogs anytime. What can I say great one of my favourite beaches in the UK so don't want to review it and want to keep it quiet. 😆 Had the best day here rockpools full of life caught crabs, shrimps and small fish and small eels too. Clear water gentle sloping into the water. Beautiful cliffs, nice little café and toilets too. Car park close to water and the car park has free WiFi so you can pay for parking online too. Litter free too great little spot don't tell people please. Lol A beautiful cove beach, calm southerly waters.. A steep to it. Has a small coffee shop and a loo. Sat nav took me wrong way. Struggled to pay with either parking app. Lucky had cash. Lots of water activities going on but I thought the quite littered Beautiful beach. Minimum waves and stunning sunsets any time of year. Boating club there in summer, nice to watch. Dog friendly all winter and after 6 in the evening summer time. Love it here. Lovely little beach, steep down to it but worth the walk. Waters crystal clear. There are toilets and a little shack offering simple food and drinks.
