Overall a pleasant stay but I'd have been disappointed if we had gone in summer. Be prepared to go offsite for day trips. We have 2 very young children and facilities were sparse. Obviously going in October meant the outdoor play equipment was often wet. The arcade was unmanned and dated. Many machines weren't working and ate our money. The pool was fine for one visit but not really entertaining enough to go again. Soft play was adequate but not in a location where adults can supervise from afar. The chap behind the bar was very friendly and helpful and our evening entertainer Chloe was lovely. Having been to parkdean before we had reasonable expectations of this and the kids loved it although one night I had to sit wearing my coat and gloves as the clubroom was so cold. Accommodation was comfortable. Clean enough but several maintenance issues that need fixing. Local area is nice and plenty to do within an hours drive. Food in the bar was not worth the price. Undercooked chips and onion rings. Chicken was cooked but everything was the same colour on the plate. Breakfast was fine. Glad there was a deal on. Did I have a nice time? Yes. Would i have been happy to pay half term/holiday prices? No. Will I return? Unlikely! Stayed in a deluxe dog friendly lodge on this visit. The lodge was spotless inside & very well equipped. Nice touch for the dog with a few biscuits & a blanket for the sofa. Comfy bed too. End of season so decking needs some love! Love that the site is so green. Great to walk the dog around & spot the squirrels, hedgehogs & rabbits. Only a few minutes drive to the amazing beach - absolutely loved by the dog 🐕 One thing I must mention is the entrance/exit for the site. Its a little bit blind for the drivers when leaving on to the road & would surely benefit from mirrors on the other side of the road. We saw an accident had happened when we there this week, making us even more cautious. Will definitely be visiting again.
