Staff are super friendly and helpful as well. Thank you WM Trust!!! It was very interesting. We hadn't known about it before. It is uphill and maybe a struggle for less able to around outside. However the inside is easy to get around. There is a play area and picnic area. A with proper tea cups to drink from! Well worth a visit, not the cheapest of museum… however you can return for free with your ticket again. Nice bit of for kids and adults alike to read about. It would be great if the old steam engine or train could be refurbished, Im sure it would bring in a lot more visitors, but still a great place to go to. We stopped for a quick bite to eat at the which was separate to the museum/works if you only wanted a bite, but opted to go in after. The only gets bigger and more vast as you go on, and we ended up spending a tiring afternoon seeing all the site. A really lovely surprise and well run venue, we will most definitely be back! The museum/grounds itself are really interesting, featuring lots of old machinery (including working water wheels!) and information boards, as well as an awesome view of the surrounding countryside and a big mined out pit!
