Lovely pub in a very pretty village bordering Milton Keynes. The food here is always good, and I hear things about the Sunday dinners. A welcome every too. What a beautiful pub. Popped in today for a drink. Best lager selection ever. Plenty of parking, friendly, and beautiful inside. There is a secret garden, and seing is believing with this fab pub! Wonderful pub restaurant with plenty of seating areas and seasonal menus. Whether you go for the hearty sunday or a light lunch or a weekday supper there are tempting and delicious choices. The staff are and efficient - a wine list by glass and bottle and the decoration adds to the cosy atmosphere. Good coffee and desserts a bonus Offstreet parking Recommend! Ordered the steak sharer, food was good, I think there could be more meat for the price and more sauce options. Waitress Clea was very attentive, although had to remind her of things we'd asked for once or twice. Apple blackberry crumble wasnt great, but excited to try other desserts next time. Great decor, felt cosy. Very food but pretty expensive. The restaurant is quite nice and well furbished. The food is superb, but you're paying the price. Service was a bit slow but there was a Xmas party going. I'd love to go back to try other dishes. First dinning at the anchor but it will not be the last. A very quaint and inviting gastropub with nice comfy seating and tasteful decor. Staff here were very very and was quick. There was plenty of space when I attended making it ideal for lunches with friends or dates. The food was of very high quality, very flavourful and memorable. This was a lovely experience not to mention how value for money it was making the Anchor a must visit to any Aspley Guise trip. So good! Had the sharer platter and was the best we’ve ever had! Beautiful venue and and the staff were all polite and amazing, particularly our server Seb who was and also was funny. The defeated us but Seb boxed up the rest so we could take it home. 10/10 We popped in for a last minute meal out to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We were welcomed by Daria who us all evening. We had exceptional food and fabulous service. It truly was a perfect evening ❤️ First visiting here, I came for dinner with my daughter. It's the cutest little place tucked out of the way, a nice hidden gem. I'm always wary of ordering steak that isn't a steakhouse but I was pleasantly surprised. The food tasted fresh and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend and will be returning. Food was delicious! was from Ramona! Absolutely loved my food, the steak was perfectly cooked and i couldn’t have asked for anything more! Fantastic and an incredible Sunday roast, it’s our first visit but definitely not our last, we will definitely be coming back again and telling friends! I can’t recommend highly enough. Absolutely you must try. I only have a kids meal and it was huge I couldn’t eat it all. Superb pub lunch—crisp, flaky fish and chips, and fresh mussels in a rich broth. Clea, our lovely server, was warm and attentive. atmosphere. We’ll definitely return! We had two different roasts, one beef and one turkey. Everything was very tasty and well put together. The only slight downside was the turkey was a bit dry but the beef was very good. We were impressed by the generous proportions. We were by Clea and she was wonderful. She was and really helpful in answering all our questions and recommended some desserts too. My best friend and I visited The Anchor this evening as a last minute stop off before heading back to London. Well what can I say, it was the best decision we ever made. From start to finish, the ambience, service, and food were amazing. Flavourful, filling, welcomed and with a smile….. such hospitality thanks to Edyta and Daria. I had to let the chefs know in person how happy and appreciative I was of the food! I spoke to Chef Alex and his counterpart (sorry I did not get your name). Such lovely chefs indeed who were very grateful for the feedback. An added bonus is, The Anchor was very clean, including the toilets. Lastly, from the Easter Menu, I had the lamb roast. My best friend had a king prawn starter followed by a Salmon (not on the menu but the chefs accommodated her request which was very much appreciated). Dessert was a nice little finish too ( I had the mini egg brownie with custard and my friend had the sticky toffee pudding). As we head back to London, our hearts and belly are full. We are grateful to everyone at The Anchor for making us feel at home! See you again soon x This pub is beautiful! From seating, food, paintings and everything in between. The was impeccable.
