It is good to get Norway hiking experience. is easy for most part and moderate for the last 100 M. Great of Stavanger, Sandess and other areas. Easy parking. Not very hard to get to the top. In weekends in during/ summer, there are some times open cafe next to parking. Best view over Stavanger and Sandnes! Bring friends and family, do a walk in nature and simply enjoy! Nb! Don't litter in nature, and keep your dog in a leche Lovely trail. Easy and yet enough to sweat a little bit. It took around 2 hours without a rush. Suitabke for kids - they might need some help, but I would say - it is fun. Mostly qyite flat and scenery is amazing throughout the whole trail. Beautiful beautiful here. Being with nature has this amazing soothing feeling and this is a perfect place to be. The is more on the intermediate side because of the uphill incline on rocks (fun though). Definitely would encourage to wear appropriate hiking boots / shoes. I wore my Adidas runners and my feet didn’t feel great after. We went in the afternoon and it had rained the night before so the grounds were swampy and shoes were soaked in mud. Nonetheless a great experience! 👍🏼 To summarize in a sentence, it is an amazing hike, not long, not short, simple in initial parts & a bit challenging towards the later stages. I am writing this detailed review keeping in mind that I went through bus from Sandnes terminal (Route 29 to Dale). We got down at Gramstad bus stop and from there is approx 30 min uphill walk till the Parking lot at Gramstad. There are 2 main routes: one from Gramstad & anothe from Dale. from Gramstad is simpler and recommended for people coming with family/pets. It is also more scenic as it passes by the lake. This has further 2 options just a few minutes from the start. One is & another clockwise. I felt anticlock wise is better for going up and the other for maybe coming down since the clock wise is a bit steep towards the last 25% of the trek and requires a slight bit of rock climbing, so I reckon this will become a bit difficult to get down. Also I found this clock wise a bit more scenic and it also passes for a brief period through a small forest. Both these clock wise & routes have a gradual incline for almost 60% of the trail and then it starts becoming steep once you cross the lake. At around 75% of the joins the from Dale. We used this to Dale to get down. The Dale starts from almost the sea level and hence takes time and is a proper incline trek right from the beginning. The bus drops almost 5 minutes away from the start of the trek at Dale bus stop, 2 stops after Gramstad bus stop. So people coming by bus who do not want to walk on the road (like from Gramstad bus stop to the parking lot) & those who are looking for a decent trek right from the beginning may take this route. This is not as scenic as it mostly passes through the cover of trees. We found that both the Dale & the can become slushy while the can become very slippery towards the end part. Choose your routes accordingly. The top is beautiful with of Sandnes-Stavanger on the other side and the mountains-lake on the climbing side. There are enough red colour markings on all the routes either on stones or tree trunks to keep you guided. The small forest towards the beginning of has few cabins for shelter & barbeque where one can have a small picnic. Nice trip to walk. A little steep when entering the top but OK even for a 51 year old man with bad hips... So this should be a nice trip for everyone. Beautiful view at the top but also a beautiful landscape to walk in . Fairly easy hike, but can be quite steep at times. Great all around & when you get there , highly recommend. ...nice little hike. This is a nice in light terrain with of Stavanger and Sandnes. It is an easy that is comfortable for families with children of all ages. Accessible by public bus (Gramstad Stop); if you take the bus to hike, it takes a bit extra effort to get to the starting point of the hike. With a car, it saves a bit of time (parking is accessible).
