The trail climbs about 800 meters, leading to a stunning overlook of Stavanger. Along the way, there are some minor climbing sections, making it an excellent choice for fitness enthusiasts and those looking for a bit of a challenge This is a beautiful and relatively a relaxing hike. Even kids and families with pets are seen hiking. Beautiful hiking to gain that adrenaline and best of Stavanger and Sandnes area. 320Meter high for a great of Stavanger and surrounding areas. A beautiful and very enjoyable. It is total 3.5 Kms from the car park and will need max 2 hours. To summarize in a sentence, it is an amazing hike, not long, not short, simple in initial parts & a bit challenging towards the later stages. I am writing this detailed review keeping in mind that I went through bus from Sandnes terminal (Route 29 to Dale). We got down at Gramstad bus stop and from there is approx 30 min uphill walk till the Parking lot at Gramstad. There are 2 main routes: one from Gramstad & anothe from Dale. from Gramstad is simpler and recommended for people coming with family/pets. It is also more scenic as it passes by the lake. This has further 2 options just a few minutes from the start. One is & another clockwise. I felt anticlock wise is better for going up and the other for maybe coming down since the clock wise is a bit steep towards the last 25% of the and requires a slight bit of rock climbing, so I reckon this will become a bit difficult to get down. Also I found this clock wise a bit more scenic and it also passes for a brief period through a small forest. Both these clock wise & routes have a gradual incline for almost 60% of the trail and then it starts becoming steep once you cross the lake. At around 75% of the joins the from Dale. We used this to Dale to get down. The Dale hike starts from almost the sea level and hence takes time and is a proper incline right from the beginning. The bus drops almost 5 minutes away from the start of the at Dale bus stop, 2 stops after Gramstad bus stop. So people coming by bus who do not want to walk on the road (like from Gramstad bus stop to the parking lot) & those who are looking for a decent right from the beginning may take this route. This is not as scenic as it mostly passes through the cover of trees. We found that both the Dale & the can become slushy while the can become very slippery towards the end part. Choose your routes accordingly. The top is beautiful with views of Sandnes-Stavanger on the other side and the mountains-lake on the climbing side. There are enough red colour markings on all the routes either on stones or tree trunks to keep you guided. The small forest towards the beginning of has few cabins for shelter & barbeque where one can have a small picnic. Great trail to take a walk, for a picnic and near the center of stavanger. Easy to get there by train and bus. Nice and easy hike Great walk to Dalsnuten. From there, there are a dozen trails you can take to continue to explore. The main from Dalsnuten gives you a of the fjord, Stavanger, and Sandnes. From the peaks just east of Dalsnuten you’ve got the I. My photos - even better, I think! Amazing of Stavanger and surrounding areas. It is a beautiful and very enjoyable. It is a total 3.5 kilometers from the car park and will need a maximum of 2 hours. Recommended for everyone 👍 Fascinating place to visit! The fresh air and amazing are what a soul needs to refresh! Very nice hike. Not hard and the at the end is worth it. Takes around 40 min going up. Frisk tur, og en utrolig utsikt når en kommer til toppen🤩 Anbefales👍🏻 Ta med drikke. Perfekt tur med barn. Nydelige utsikt, gode stier og lett å finne frem Wonderful view, sheep along the way. Nice path, but a bit of climbing in the end. Be sure to follow signposts.
