The cake was good, although it had some different features compared to the same type of cake I ate in other cafés, namely a buttercream in the cherry layer, as well as what I think it is some strawberry jam. The overall outcome is still really good, but I think I’d stick to a more traditional recipe. The staff was really friendly and kind. With a soothing and relaxing view of the Kirchplatz from the balcony, this Cafe was one of the unplanned highlights of our trip. We ordered, Hawaiian Pizza - it was superb tasty, the black forest cake was truly amazing and as authentic as can be. But the highlight was the icecream. The Kirschen Torte we had here was extremely good, and almost melted in the mouth. The prices are also reasonable as compared to other touristy cafe in the nearby area. Staff was polite and friendly. Lots of vegetarian Options, everything seemed freshly prepared, good service, staff spoke English, spotlessly clean toilet. Great cosy place with delicious cakes! The balcony has a nice view over the market square, but the cake (though looking nice) was simultaneously too dry in the dough and overloaded with cream. The cheapest brand of bagged tea from a discounter does the rest.
