The Barley to Barrels your was fantastic. Great stories. Felt more authentic than other destilleries ad was a lot of fun. Hope they do warehouse tastings next I'm there! A High Class – A True Enthusiast’s Dream Our visit to Benriach turned out to be nothing short of exceptional — a true high-calibre and a rare opportunity to peek behind the curtain of the world. We began our journey by taking the local bus from Elgin to Benriach, which was incredibly easy and made it possible for all of us to enjoy the golden drams without worrying about the drive. Highly recommend this option if you want to fully embrace the experience. The groups are kept very small (maximum of 8 people), but we got lucky — there were only four of us on the tour, which made it feel like a private experience. ❤️ We were warmly welcomed by a lovely woman who showed us into the lounge area where tea, coffee, and a sweet little treat were served. It was a great, relaxed start to the visit. Our guide, Ian, soon joined us and began sharing the story of Benriach with contagious enthusiasm. He wasn’t just presenting facts — he brought the history to life, clearly someone with a deep passion for and the craft behind it. After our coffee, the actual began. From the delivery of the barley to the warehouse where the impressive round casks quietly matured — every step was explained in detail, and there was plenty of room for questions and dialogue throughout. Finally, we returned to the room, where a beautiful board awaited us: five different whiskies, each paired with the cask influence and food match. Ian guided us through each one — not rushed, not scripted, but with genuine care and insight. Every dram had its own story, and the pairing elevated the even further. Of course, we couldn’t leave empty-handed and ended up purchasing a bottle to take home. The staff were incredibly helpful and after we had such a great time, that we missed the intended bus, they were sweet to arrange a taxi for us back to Elgin :) All in all, this was one of the most immersive and thoughtfully delivered visits I’ve ever experienced. If you're even remotely interested in — don’t miss Benriach. It’s intimate, authentic, and delivered with a level of passion and hospitality that’s hard to find. Very informative with full of good stories! Lianne not only told us the most important things about Benriach but added her impressions and answered all of our questions. The cocktail mixing is unique and this is the only open on Sunday. You can’t miss it! 🥃 Drivers can take their drams home. Fantastic with an entertaining and knowledgeable guide. She tells great stories and uses analogies poetically to help you understand the process and chemistry of the flavors. The groups are small, and this is a that loves to experiment so the is an adventure. Highly recommend a visit! GAYLE ROCKED THE BENRIACH TOUR!!! Yesterday we did the Beniach tour. What a fantastic experience. The is currently having a “silent season” and that was a shame. But then there was Gayle. She made it a very nice and lively tour. She told the real story behind Scottish whisky’s. Not just the love, passion and romance behind the whisky. But also the reality. Many people are dependent on the industry and distilleries open and close from to time. Gayle was fantastic!! She brought the closed to life and showed us all the ins and outs. The was well organised by Gayle. With a cocktail of and 3 different whisky’s we really enjoyed everything Benriach has to offer. Gayle even had a little surprise for us. As a lover of heavy peat and the heavier, complex whisky’s, she gave me the pleasure of a 27-year-old bottle from Benriach’s top collection. What a icing on the cake that was. Truly a fantastic tasty end to a top and tasting. We left with a hug from Gayle and fantastic memories! Gayle, keep the passion. You rock! !!! Must Visit !!! We booked the “Barley to Barrels” and had the absolute best time! Since it was just the two of us (it was Sunday), Gayle gave us the VIP experience. She took the to show and explain everything in detail and was happy to answer every question we could come up with. At the moment, their is closed, which gives you the amazing opportunity to see behind every machine and process, explore every nook and cranny, and best of all, take photos of everything — even their cellar, which most distilleries don’t allow. Since we promised Gayle to include “Shmokay” in our review, here it comes! After we took a walk through their cellar, learning about virgins (casks 😉), different types of finishes, and woods from all over the world, we had the pleasure of ending our with a of five drams. We worked our way from the base selection through some experiments to a Shmokay finish, which may or may not have ended in some confusion about what to include in our driver’s package. Afterwards, Gayle took the to provide us with a list of restaurants and bars to continue our tour, and we were able to end the day on a high — having dinner in one of the finest places you could find in Elgin (for this secret, however, you’ll have to take the tour!). All in all, an absolute highlight of our trip to Scotland, and we promise to come back for more! Fabulous with a passionate team and great drams! What a wonderful with our guide Ian. His passion and knowledge were evident for all to see in our 75 minute "Original" tour. Everyone in the group was made to feel welcome and Ian was brilliant at engaging with each of us as we moved around the distillery. With a wealth of and knowledge of the industry he answered the questions posed and his genuine love for Benriach, his colleagues and the drams was lovely to see. The ended with a sample of 3 of the core whiskies and a fabulous cocktail creation - The Golden Delicious lived up to its name! Would thoroughly recommend a visit if you are visiting Elgin or the Speyside region. Thanks Ian! We took a and cocktails on Tuesday afternoon and had an amazing with lots of fun. The guide Ian was most informative, entertaining and genuinely interesting to listen to concerning all his and knowledge of the industry. On our return, the table of sample and opportunity to create a new cocktail was Very well presented and we were made to feel most welcome. We’ll definitely recommend this To friends and family, especially those visiting from down south.
