This is a very nice distillery with a visitors center and a bar. While we did not do the tour, we stopped by for some shopping and to have a few drams. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in assisting us with choosing drinks to enjoy. The whiskey is very good to boot. Overall, we really enjoyed this distillery. The tours are great, the tasting room is okay. Beautiful surroundings, off the road. Lovely deep pond. There were not enough expressions here to make any of the flights seem worth tasting. A few of the unique tastings (Chinquapin oak) were worth a try, if only because of their oddity. They have a few rum cask aged expressions as well. Every distillery is trying to do something slightly unique and this is their way, perhaps. Our tasting host (Steve) was nice but not really conversational. At one point he said there were a few we should at least nose and then handed us the mostly empty bottles to smell from. Clearly none of us smelled anything but glass bottle and he did not pick up that at all. His co-host (and a tour leader) was really the one who gave explanation and friendliness to our time there. She was great. Small, separate visitor's center/gift shop. Very friendly staff in there. 100% glad we went. Probably won't return on my next trip through Speyside. Took the warehouse tour a few month ago and it was phenomenal! We had a chance to explore many kinds of casks, went over the entire process from barley to bottle. We saw traditional and new types of warehouses. I really enjoyed it very much. Our guide was fantastic though I can't recall his name. And the special whiskies that we tried were awesome. They know what they do, and you could tell their appreciation to master Distillery Billy walker. If you are a type of person that enjoy cask selection process - you must visit glenallachie. I learned a lot there and really recommend on this tour. One of the best I have ever had in scotland Stopped by at the Glenallachie Bar for a few Drams last evening. Was a wonderful experience. Keli at the bar was quite helpful and knowledgeable about their whiskies and helped us with our selections. A must do for any Whisky enthusiast!!!! Signed up for the tasting session at GlenAllachie. The guide we had may have been new, but she did a great job nonetheless to conduct the programme and make everyone feel at home. A modest but solidly kept main building, exceptional drams and well priced collections. Cements this brand as one of the top three Scotch brands in my mind. Fantastic tour to WareHouse. What an it was at glenallachie! Linzi was an absolute charm. Her love and passion was superb. The filosofie of this distillery is one I can definately relate to: drink whisky with your friends, don’t let your friends drink your whisky at your own funeral. So enjoy your whisky while you can and don’t save it… The whisky’s itself were outstanding! Was a flavorbombs did Billy Walker create, fantastic! Linzi made sure we got the full with an very, very extensive tasting with a grand surprise in the end (being an very exclusive dram 👌🏼)! The 2014 chinquapin/PX cask and the Meikle tòir “the turbo” as absolute favorites for me! Linzi truely made our day! Thanks for having us. Glenallachie made a friend for life! Great experience! Jez was an amazing guide, we got to hear the history of the distillery, the process and even got to smell some empty casks which was a very special experience. Nice variety of whiskeys to taste. And if you buy the single cask you even get to fill your own bottle directly from the cask which is a super unique experience. Would definitely recommend!
