Quaint little pub/restaurant not far from the coast with an open log fire, perfect for when the weather is bad. Staff are very welcoming, served us with a smile, and always ready to help. We didn't book and it was busy, but they still were able to accommodate us. Food was good especially the Smokie Soup. We had fish and chips, one with batter the other in oatmeal, both were nice although the batter on the fish was a little soggy. Would recommend. Yes a couthie wee place run by husband and wife team. But then there was always the dessert cart...! Lovely, friendly service, good food and a great place to stretch the legs afterwards. Nice little place run by a couple, near the seaside. We saw good reviews and decided to come here, 35min or so drive from Dundee DD1 in the summer so it was bright and sunny (even on our way back at 830pm). Ambience, nice and cosy. Food, fresh and delicious. Seating, a wee bit cramped. Not a big deal. Staff and owner, friendly. Toilet, clean. WiFi? Didn’t check as we were busy eating. Did we enjoy it? Yes. Do we recommend it? Yes. Took a drive up to Auchmithie yesterday. It's a busy wee restaurant so we were very lucky to get a table - suggest booking ahead. As others have said, the food is excellent and while we went for the smokies / pancakes, I'm sure everything else on the menu would be great too. Leave space for a desert then cross the road for a walk down to the beach to burn it off! One of the best meals we’ve ever had ! Everything is fresh and locally sourced wherever possible.
