Quiet and relaxing an hour’s walk from Ilfracombe the coastline. It’s mostly rocky with some sand. There is parking nearby but we prefer to walk along the coastal path and stop there for a picnic. So beautiful and secluded, just down the road from a local pub that you just have to visit. Great little for SUP and kayaking. Sandy cove is accessible around the bay. Great shop that can supply both and give advice. Dog friendly. Toilets near the beachfront down a path. If you’re not coming with SUPs or kayaks, then park at Memorial Hall, a five minute walk away from the beach. As car park right by the is very limited (10 - 14 spaces) and is carnage by mid morning, particularly as it’s one road in-and-out. Save yourself the hassle. Simply beautiful on the right day. Spent an hour or so walking to it through the valley. OK. It was a lovely day. But boy did I have a good day. Gorgeous little place. Then did a Gorgeous little walk up to the light house. Every dip down is followed by a rise and u turn around and see an even better view. Cut in land and came back via some lovely footpaths. There's a tea shop/ gallery in the village and a van doing coffees out of it on the front. But not alot else. And better for it! U want ice creams. Go to combe martin. Go Lee Bay cus it's damn beautiful Fantastic atmosphere, such a shame people can't decide what to do with the old hotel, but The Grampus as ever served good pop and munchies! Church woodwork is fantastic, as many West Country churches are. Not the Lee Bay of old. Still quaint and one of the best rocky coves in the area (and worth a visit for the smugglers steps) but not quite the same atmosphere of old. Be warned - not the easiest drive in and out. Amazing little hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists, some fun little roads getting in there and free car park very small but worth a visit as paddle boarding around the bays over the rocks is amazing Wow ,The drive down to the ( )is a little daring, parking a little bit little but the walk from the carpark to the shale is quite an adventure via costal path cut through the sea cliff If the tide is out (check tide times )good luck on the drive back ,,,,, Beautiful beach, has acces to sand and load of rock pools for exploring at low tide.
