Some of the easy chairs look decrepit and could do with recovering but on the whole it is very good facility to have in Sandown. Was visiting some family and wanted to go swimming with my six month old and her cousins / auntie. Unfortunately on buying a family pass to use the pools, we arrived poolside and the smaller warmer baby was totally full. We initially queued up to go in but was told there was a wait. We gave up and went into the big pool, as being in the with a baby, 3year old and 5year old was better than waiting and watching the pool! No one at any point told us the would be full and unable to be used unless we queued. It took us 25 minutes of being in the colder to get in the warmer. Not sure I would return even though the nice lady lifeguard was very apologetic that the front desk lady didn’t tell us we’d have to have waited (as apparently is protocol). Something to bear in mind if you have little ones! Receptionists seem to treat younger members differently to older members. I went in and got lied to by the receptionist and then once trying to stick up for myself and say that the information was untrue then got told I was lying. I asked if I could go straight to the and got told that I could just go on in, then ten minutes later the was emptied out and I asked a lifeguard why and he said that someone at the desk should have let me know that the was shutting. The receptionist was rude but I carried on with my usual please and thank yous. I’ve worked in customer service and know it can be a pain but the treatment I received was unfair and left me feeling crappy. If that receptionist happens to be reading this maybe you should reconsider your job options as customer service is definitely not for you and I wouldn’t dream of talking to a customer the way you have especially after her being polite and helping to find options to resolve the issue. Happens again and I will put forward a formal complaint to the overheads as it’s made me not want to come back alone again and is far too pricey to have to deal with people who are supposed to make you feel welcomed.
