This is an excellent aire de camping car on the banks of the Allier River. Just across the bridge to the very interesting town. Plenty of space and abundant service point inc. electric. A great place to stop on route Northwards or South. It's very well signposted and access is easy with plenty of places, one is sure to find a nice plot. Face the river for a sunrise through the front window. In late autumn the ground is a bit soggy and the falling leaves are a nuisance. The city is under 2km walking and supermarket 1km. Great Aire stopover for motorhomes/camper vans, over the bridge, edge of town. Beautiful aire. Pulled into use and pay for services. Says it will be maintained by 30th April but now 11 May. Big Aire on the outskirts of Moulins. Perfectly adequate for an overnight stop. There are limited electric points and no facilities so you need your own loo etc. Moulins is walkable along the riverside and over the bridge. The site was very busy as a stage of the Tour de France were arriving the next morning. Water available but payable. Motorhome dump point with chemical waste disposal. Perfectly adequate and, had we been staying longer, there were some quieter pitches away from the entry point. This is a beautiful area but because of the construction I can’t give a better rating. There is no toilet or water or any local business that could provide such services. They seem to be going through renovations as of June 2022. Otherwise this would be a nice area to stop overnight and enjoy the park and river. Large space, €4 euros to enter and 0.10 per hour. Very close to the city and very cute river next to the campsite. There is a toilet close by but no showers. Lovely location in good weather, but probably could get boggy in wet weather. €0.10 per hour for parking is excellent value for money. Jetons for water and toilet emptying cost €2 for 20mins access. Only problem is that the machine which issues jetons goes out of service sporadically. Short walk to Imtermarche which offers shopping, fuel, car wash and launderette.
