I suggest the panoramica road instead of the “scorciatoia” because it lasts almost the same time, but it raises up gradually, while doing the shorter way you have to climb a lil bit, so you have to be careful if you suffer of dizziness. At the Rifugio itself we had Polenta with cinghiale, foiade with porcini, formaggio alla griglia and red wine, everything wonderful. Clearly we had a wonderful power nap after lunch and we went back to our cars in 2 hours. you can spend a really wonderful day doing this path. Very nice people, excellent food(!) and good coffee. As soon as we arrived Deborah gave us a tour, towels and sent us to shower after a long walk. Sonia during our amazing dinner, thank you Chef, made our experience just more incredible with her kindness. Fabio is also your mountain guru. Don’t shy away from asking questions. The rifugio is situated just next to lake Barbellino with an easy/moderate ~2.5-3 hrs walk on Sentiero 305. The rifugio has also a new addition called Osteria as beautiful as the rifugio. The place has all the comforts that you can think of. Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and speak English so you can experience the Italian Hospitality in full.
