If you are in the Colmar region, make sure you go to this premium in the village of Ammerschwihr. The are absolutely wonderful, especially the Grand Crus. Most are organic, which is wonderful. The is super friendly and they will let you taste all the you want. Hopefully you don’t drive and can enjoy the fully. Otherwise they have spit buckets. Among my favorites, the organic dry Muscat, the gewürztraminer, Pinot gris and Riesling grand cru. If you like sweet wines, ask to try the late harvest. Wow. Make sure also you ask to see the cellar, you will see casks that are several hundreds of years old. It’s stunning. Cheers! We got to try some very tasty and special before we buy. Historic place and a lovely and generous and free (as it should be when you want to buy unlike some wineries charging a set fee for tasting). Reasonable prices for the bottles too. Amazing at this estate. We tasted around 12 between the 2 of us and ended up getting 4. Thomas on site was very nice and patient in explaining the Family history, viticulture, vinificación and the range of classic and grand cru they offer. Part of the cellar was open for visitor to walk around on their own which was different from most other estates. We also spoke briefly with Mr Jean Baptiste Adam himself and he seemed extremely friendly and nice! Great and great services. Highly recommended. Le must ... Une très bonne Maison Très bons vins avec de bons conseils et la possibilité de goûter That was my first degustation and I hope not last :) I recently had the opportunity to visit Jean Baptiste Adam in Alsace, and I must say that it was the most disappointing I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this visit would not live up to our expectations. The on duty seemed incredibly cold and unwelcoming. There was no warm greeting, no introduction to the or its offerings. Instead, we were handed a list without much explanation. When we inquired about the wines, the staff’s responses were brief and lacked enthusiasm. We were left to figure out the on our own, with minimal guidance. To make matters worse, we encountered an uncomfortable and challenging situation during our tasting. We expressed our interest in trying different wines, only to be met with resistance. The questioned our preferences and even went so far as to tell us that we were the incorrectly. This lack of assistance and the confrontational attitude left us feeling uneasy throughout the process. As we sampled the and realized they didn’t meet our expectations, we decided to leave after trying just a few. However, our departure was not without further confrontation. The actually stopped us and challenged us for not making a purchase after the wines. This was a stark contrast to previous visits where we were encouraged to explore and enjoy the without feeling pressured to buy. Ultimately, we felt coerced into purchasing a bottle of wine, under the guise that it was the best course of action after tasting. This kind of approach left a sour taste in our mouths, both figuratively and literally. We left Jean Baptiste Adam feeling disappointed, uncomfortable, and regretful of our decision to visit. In my years of exploring wineries, I have never encountered an quite like this. It’s unfortunate that what should have been an enjoyable and educational outing turned into a disheartening encounter. I hope that the at Jean Baptiste Adam can reflect on their approach and strive to create a more welcoming and customer-friendly atmosphere for future visitors. Great welcome from the kindest gentleman at the reception. Deeply Informative for the whole procedure that makes each special and different along with rich and full degustation in scales according their acidity and sweetness. I believe all lovers and professionals should pass from this winery. Excellent winehouse with (free) acces to the cellar. Thomas was an excellent host and presented the with flair and passion. Bought a few boxes of and I know that I will be sorry that I did not buy more! We had an excellent here, starting with a look around the cellar and learning about the making process and different wines. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting. Everything we tasted was delightful. Bottle prices are affordable as well. Everyone was very friendly and of course knowledgeable about the wine. Dont go here if you wanna learn anything about wine. We had a and asked some questions in order to learn more about the wine. But every time we did, he rolled his eyes before replying semi-rudely.. Very unfriendly staff. We went into the room with no introduction of the wine. The had his attention on other customers while he left us unattended in the room. We found the under-whelming however we were forced to make a purchase before we can depart. Overall a very intimating and terrible customer service! The staff/receptionist needs to do a much much better job on customer orientation to welcome guests.
