Come opera bingo get your act together to stop losing customers. staff are very polite and helpful no faults there . i am hoping owners are going to listen. to my views . are not happy with broken and outdated machines... Asked what food is served at 7pm. Went to order at the 8pm interval. Told no food available after 7.15pm. Why did she not inform me!!!! Great time. Friendly staff. Limited food. Mind you 3.95 you can understand why. Hardly any meat on the plate. Veg had seemed to be outta a tin. The pudding, apple crumble with custard, well that's what it was meant to be. Apple crumble was tasteless and the custard was yellow. Only thing that made it custard. My advice, if you want a decent Sunday lunch go somewhere else. Great bingo hall to go, too. I go every Saturday and its bloody freezing the reason they give the air conditioner is on because the staff are rushing about and they get too hot so the customer has to freeze for 6 staff it’s a joke Terrible service, same winners each week which coincidentally seems to be friends and family of the manager, manager is just so rude to paying and we pay a lot of money just to be told constantly that we were not loud enough and it was a false claim. I have never had such a horrid experience and definitely wouldn’t go again unless a new manager is appointed as the one currently is a horrible bully who enjoys being rude to but once called out hides behind the desk and rings police. Definitely wouldn’t recommend, manager seems to have his favourites to be honest. Same winners every weeks and when myself or one of my friends or family have tried to claim they refuse to pay out the valid claim claiming we were either not fast enough or weren’t loud enough even though we always call before they go to the next number with our hands held high. Honestly just not impressive with the services me or anyone I’ve brought have received. Manager abuses his power and when called out for his belittling and damn right borderline abusive behaviour towards well paying he then threatens to throw out and call the police. Just a horrible experience. Will not be going again to the workington opera bingo, spend thousands of pounds in there but the same people win (people in the bar who are ploughed with beer) when I do win there has been 3 separate times where they have refused to pay me due to them calling really fast and not stopped when I have shouted bingo loudly while waving my hands and when confronted they have just replied that they don't need to give me a reason and it's there right to refuse to pay me out. Manager is really rude and not friendly and treats all his staff terrible.
