You get a warm welcome, there's lots of craft supplies to buy, but also you can a ceramic object (plate, bowl, ornament figurine etc) to paint your own design on, and sit down to a peaceful relaxing environment in which to paint with all the materials you'll need provided for you. People come and go, some bringing babies in to print their hand or footprint in paint on a plate etc. When finished, the item will be glazed for you to collect within a few days. Prices vary for different items, but a breakfast bowl cost £8. I painted two for Christmas presents, completely individual and handmade. We had a wonderful here and can't wait to get the pottery back Having only been here a couple of times, I can easily say that I’ll be back for more! I’m quite frankly an awful painter but the atmosphere in The Crafty Workshop is brilliant, it’s a really nice chilled place to be and to spend a few hours with family, friends or even on your own. Prices vary depending on what you to paint, items start from £10 and go up depending on the size and complexity of the model… The price also includes the glazing and baking of each product so the price you see is the price you pay, no hidden charges! There is also a few classes you can book including crochet, sewing and there’s even adult-only nights which are fantastic (my first visit was an adult-only night and it was a real good time) The staff are fantastic and incredibly helpful, Lesley should also be a part comedian - she’s a laugh a minute and is on hand to help you create your masterpiece. Great fun for all involved and I would highly recommend giving it a go, even if you’re not the most artistic person in the world. I will just mention that parking is on-street parking, there’s usually plenty of spaces right outside of the building but be aware that it is a one hour disc zone and parking attendants are seen around the area quite frequently. Great place for killing a few hours on a wet day. Lovely place, a great atmosphere and an amazing owner Amazing idea! Needed help with fabric urgently. They were so helpful when my husband went on for me. Got everything I needed. Today we went for the 2nd time, we picked up the money box my 4 year old painted last and painted a flower pot and turtle, which I didnt get pictures of as we were immersed! The staff are helpful and friendly. Its an experience that is what you make it and we find it thouroughly enjoyable! The Bunny hunt was greatly enjoyed by my daughter as well!! The crafty workshop is a fabulous place, Lesley and her team are welcoming, helpful and have so many amazing things to do and try. The pottery painting is great, the adults evenings and atmosphere of the whole shop are 100% worth a visit We have just been for my Daughters birthday group of 4. Me and my sister went for the first today after lots of positive recommendations, we were shown exactly what to do and enjoyed every minute. Great for adults too not just kids and looking to come back for work event. Really fun experience with loads of pottery to from and loads of colours - would recommend to anyone! Absolutely brilliant. We were only in the Lakes for a long weekend...but they managed to get them fired for us to pick up on the way home.
