Get ur boots on, stop staring at your phone, and enjoy Lovely view.s ,good starting point for a hike up latrigg or skiddaw. We had walked up Latrigg the day before so decided to drive up to this spot as a starting point for Skiddaw. Perfectly placed. You might struggle for if you go later in the day. Be mindful of sheep being shepherded down the road on your way up. Fantastic place for a short and not too exhausting walk. Great view from the top. Easy access to and local other hills with great over Keswick and the surrounding area. Can be cloudy (see the photos 🤣)! Easily accessible path from the car park for wheelchair users up to Latrigg is safe, without too many bumps and is wide enough. Today’s challenge to Skiddaw. We started off at Skiddaw/Latrigg car park. We went through the gate into the field and followed the track for skiddaw. We diverted slightly so we could Little Man, then pushed on for the summit of Skiddaw. The from the top of are unbelievable, worth every minute of the climb. After spending around 40 minutes on the summit of skiddaw, we pushed on down to Carlside Tarn. Then across to Longside Edge before beginning the for Ullock Pike, carrying along The Edge before turning left at Ling How for the descent. Once we reached the bottom we just trekked through the old forest plantation, eventually making it back to the starting point where we left the car. Walking for just over 6 hours, covering 21.34KM. Hit another PB on my fitness rings again today. We truly are blessed to live in country with such beautiful scenery. I’m looking forward to getting out and exploring more fells. I would just like to say a massive thank you to Slawomir for doing the with me. I know it was tough going, even more so the last 4KM coming back with a blister, but you pushed on through the pain. For that I salute you. 😊 Today’s was brought to you by #BlackDiamond #deutur #karrimor #hottuna #osmaps #goprohero8 #lucazadesport #shglobaladventuretravel This car park really only fits the first 15 or so cars, I would advise to get here very early, I arrived around 9:00 and was the first car to park on the road, the road is extremely uneven and awkward. However, if you do get parked up it is THE perfect spot to start your hike Fantastic place to experience expansive and to access footpaths in all directions - including a route up to Skiddaw. Some of the routes are accessible for wheelchair users. Latrigg fell - Amazing through out. A very easy hike in lake district with mindblowing of the fell. The best thing about this hike is you can drive up most of the way the elevation and it is a very short from the parking. Very helpful when you are taking elderly people who wants to experience the beauty of lake district. If you want it to be adventurous, you can try walking from keswick or try couple other longer walks (skiddaw, bassenthwaite and mosedale) which starts from the same car parking. Car Park: Drive all the way upto Underskiddaw (the right end of Gale Road in Applethwaite). Wonderful on Keswick and the lake. Even if you won't make it to the top of Skiddaw. The trail is steep for most of the time, so I would suggest it for more advanced hikers. Stunning Lovely walk, I walked to a treasured place known as memory wood, where I had a tree planted for my late husband. Convenient to to Latrigg. For once, one where you don't have to pay. Great views. Just be aware it will probably be windy!! Great hiking Great place to park if or northern fells are your target. Limited free for about 10-15 vehicles. A round trip is about 7.5 miles to summit from here. A leisurely up took us 5 hours with 30 mins lunch break at the top!
